Ceiling Fan Light Plastic Washer

The plastic washers that hold the glass shades in position on my ceiling fan are cracked and need replacing. They cracked because the wrong wattage light bulbs were used. Can anyone help me find some? I been googling different terms for 45 minutes and can't find anything. Pic related- my cracked washers.

Bike Luggage Trailer

Hi /diy/, first time coming here. I want to build one of these. But I'm kind of an idiot and I don't have anything to weld, nor do I know how to weld. Would building a bike trailer from wood work out? I mean wouldn't it be too heavy? Please don't crush my hope too much: the reason I thought of this is, I want to someday move from my state (Pennsylvania) to my best friend's (Arizona), and because of circumstances, I cannot steal the family van (my family would not be able to buy groceries). But I have my trusty bike! So what if I could take my important belongings with me? But I am poor and stupid. tl;dr >see bike luggage trailer >I'm a poorfag, maybe I can make one? >would making one out of wood be too heavy for me to pull my important belongings in? >Am I just better off buying one?

Is it possible to stain over previously dried and clear coated stain on a fibreglass door? On our new home we have a $2000 fibreglass door and our painter offered to finish it in the color we liked. We agreed upon a gel stain with a rich dark color. He put three or four coats of old masters wiping stain (we had agreed upon gel stain but I don't know if it would have made a difference) on the door without letting the stain dry properly between coats. He did all of the coats and then the clear coat all within 4-5 hours. Should he have left proper time for the stain to dry between coats and putting on the clear? The results we got look like a washed out bright color and doesn't look anything like what we had wanted. I'm guessing him putting the clear on so soon washed out the color? Anyway I'm wondering if it's possible to just get the darker color we had wanted in the first place and just rub it over the clear coat and if it would work. Any advice? It's an 8 foot x 4 foot wide door so taking it off and using a loaner door isn't an option.

im going to make a desk for my computer. is it as simple as just cutting a semicircle in a rectangle of mdf and putting legs on it? people said making legs is difficult and it wont be completely even but it cant be too hard right. computer desks cost a lot and i kind of want to make one myself.

Transparent chicken wire?

I want to seal in my porch so we can let the cats out on it without them escaping. I live in a condo so i'm not allowed to do much construction out there. I was wondering if there was a chicken wire or lattice like material that's made out of transparent plastic. That way I could seal it in without it being very noticeable. Something like pic related but clear?

Programing

How do I teach myself programing? I hear that "you can't learn it from someone, you have to learn it yourself". Specifically, I want to teach myself how to "hack" (hold your horses) my own network remotely, for fun. If one were to need practice, how can it be done? how can I know I'm anonymous?

Are these "cheap" folding table saws good enough for high-end furniture if you're really, really careful? What are some smaller table saws that are renowned for flatness and fence accuracy? I played with the table saws at Home Depot and Lowes and felt that the fences were too easy to deform with hand pressure and the thin aluminum tops didn't inspire confidence.

I moved into this room and only use / have furniture in the blue area. It's echoing like a tunnel and I won't have furniture in the rest for 5ish months. I figured some heavy drapes along the walls would fix it, but it'll look awful and I'll be left with some useless drapes in a couple of months. Would stacking empty cardboard boxes up from floor to ceiling, creating a wall for the area (with a "drape" door) work or would it be really, really stupid? >Current + My "plan"

Hey /diy/ I want to get into robotic prosthesis and exoskeletal assisted movement, however I don't know what I'd read, or even what courses I'd take to get a degree that would lead me into that field. Please give me any advice that you can, my parents/relatives are of no help as they were all menial laborers and I'm the first to go to college.

Car is getting screechy. Is it easy to change? I don't know work on cars but I'm reasonably good at following directions and I can borrow a healthy amount of tools. How badly will I get bent over taking it to a mechanic? Note: I have to take the car in anyway for a rim and new tires. Am I less likely to get ripped if I'm buying more? Car is 2007 Accord EX-L V6

What's cheap or good lube for a bicycle's wheel bearings? I'm cleaning up a weathered bike and I flushed it out with wd-40, now I need something to jam or spray in there without taking everything apart. Vaseline out of the question?

heyo /diy/kes, I'm wondering if my floating evaporation/desalination device is feasible and would it work. It's pic related, and it's practically an inverted bunt-cake pan bowl which floats. All one does is anchor it loosely on top of any body of water and simply the heat of the sun should evaporate the water and the design will allow the water to fall directly into a clean cup which is placed right under the center piece. Thoughts?

I'm planning on buying an exercise bike and converting it into a generator. I've seen some used bikes on Craigslist ranging from 50-300$, but I'm looking to get a bike for around $150 so that my remaining budget can go to the other things I will need. My overall budget for this project is around $500. My electrical experience is limited, but I can learn to do what you guys advise. That way while I'll be able to power a television and maybe even a ps4 with my legs so I won't feel as guilty about sitting around playing games all day.
