hey /diy/. I've decided to make a dreamcatcher for my girlfriend, and the making process itself doesn't really seem too complicated, but I'm not sure where can I get a metal ring that I could use as a frame. Maybe you have any ideas where could I buy one from, or what household items could I use to make one? Thanks
Also, if you tried making a dreamcatcher in a past and have any advices for me, I'd be glad to hear them.
Shotgun Shell destructible usb?

So I was just browsing Boing Boing and I saw a fairly cool looking video on turning a .40 cal shell casing into casing for a set of earbuds, I liked the idea (and have some spare earbuds that I don't use too much anyhow) but I don't have any .40 cal shell casings. I do however have a 12 gauge shotgun shell that I uh.. disassembled.. for science a while back, and so I've been thinking of fun diy stuff I could do with a shotgun shell, and it occurred to me I could make a destructible flash drive (a la the thermite destructible hard drive I'm sure many of you have seen, it won some data erasure competition a year or two back) using the shell, its original powder and a flash drive. What do you think about this idea/any other ideas for fun projects I could do with that shell?

Hello, I'm not from around these parts, but I come to you seeking advice.
I've recently been hired for some painting jobs by using the "fake it till you make it" approach. Problem is, my experience painting is amateur at best, and always for someone else's crew. I know little about going to a site by myself, doing the job, and all the rest that goes with.
/diy/, I come to you for help. What do I need to know about painting to successfully pull these jobs off? Its all interior work for now, and nothing too complicated. Give me anything you think I should know, I am a blank page.
I faked it and faked it well, now I need to make it.
How do I measure my punch force?

All right dudes I tried to measure my punching power by punching a dial scale, after attaching it to a wall, with my boxing gloves. problem is when I threw a punch with the correct form (i.e throw snapping punch, incorporate feet twist shoulders etc. and quickly bring it back to guard) it wouldn't budge, hell even when I threw haymakers is would only go up like 5 pounds. But when I kept my fist on the scale and then applied pressure that was the only time it would move up. What am I doing wrong ? You guys can try it yourselves. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
(This was originally posted on /asp earlier today. It's still on front page if you want to view it, same pic. I was told this section would help

I need to cut a couple of ~50mm holes in some thin steel (I think it is, anyway: I should probably check). This is not something I do very often so it'll involve a handheld drill and a hole saw. However it seems like some sort of cutting fluid might a good idea, so I ask you, oh /diy/
1) Is it?
2) Is there anything I can use that doesn't require me to go purchase a gallon of the stuff which I'll never, ever, use again subsequently?
