Whats the best way to remove Hillman's Pop Toggle Wall Anchors? I need to replace them due to not putting them in correctly in the first place.

Old Air compressor

47 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
I recently came across an old air compressor, but despite the model number and possible manufactures number I can't find much info about it. I'm not to familiar with air compressors so I'm not sure where to put the oil. There looks like 2 possible spots. One that looked like an air intake when it was plugged in, and one slightly above it. The Air intake had some cheese cloth dipped in oil and wrapped in tape around the opening. I thought that was stupid until I found that the thread for that opening is too big for 1" and too small for 1.25" pipe threads. I'll post some pics with the serial numbers.

Hi /diy/ im planing to put a screen above my bed so I can watch series, movies, etc.. I have the screen of a laptop that died some monts ago I know that I must get a LCD controller board , so searching on eBay I found this one http://m.ebay.com/itm/251718670943 Looks good but the problem is that it doesn't say how you power it on and it does not have any port (that I can recognize) for the energy, it says that is 5V but nothing else Do you know how can I power it on?

Who sells a good panel mount USB port?

Pic related. Had to create a mount for this thing, a U clip, for a regular full size USB port. Couldn't find a panel mount... Anyone make a good one? All I could find were usb extension cords.

Kind of an odd thread. Any idea for "tuning" style projects. Long term stuff you can enjoy that won't cost a shit ton of money. Fixing up an old motorcycle or building a firearm both sound good. But I won't use the gun as much as I should and a bike would skyrocket my rates and possibly put me in the hospital. What are some projects I can work on for months at a time trying to get things JUST right "tuning mentality" I'm a college senior in EE but frankly electronic projects are a bit too debugging oriented and documentation reading. I want something that I can do as meditation to get away from stress.

Pyroboard/2D Rubens Tube. Safety is Important. Yes

Hello /diy/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=2awbKQ2DLRE So, a year ago I aspired to make this. On and off again I've been at it and here's what I got so far: - A working sound system - A large metal box (50 x 50 x 20 cm) with 1mm thick holes about a cm apart at the top. Welded and sealed with fireproof sealant. -The realization that safety was not the number one concern up until now. From what I understand the most dangerous point of operation for the box would be lighting it initially as there would be oxygen and fuel inside it, potentially exploding(?) and when closing it as the flames may go back into the fuel tank. I plan on implementing a flashback arrestor, like the oxyacetylene welders use, and a regulator valve to take care of the latter, but the former frightens me a bit. Low gas pressure, no initial sound going in, and a fire extinguisher seems to be the consensus for general safety(As far as the vanilla rubens tubes are concerned), but I'd like all the help I can get for this to go well. Between how far I've come and the potential danger I don't want this to be another project that goes unfinished. TL;DR how do I not die?

How long would it take an average guy to construct a 10 foot section of palisade wall that averages say, 5 feet tall? Evenness of height isn't an issue but tightness is. What supplies would you need?

I got a car battery for a dollar

I got a car battery for a dollar, but it's really dead (0.03V). How should I go about trying to make it work again? I've read that putting water with epsom salts helps make it work again. Is that true?

What are some inexpensive sound insulation applications for rooms? Blanket over door? Egg cartons taped to walls with that double sided sticky foamy tape?

Wire Length Counter

Is there any cheap device that I could feed wire/rope through that will measure the total length of it all? This doesn't seem like something hard to make or find, sadly I can't think of the proper wording to search for it. All I end up finding is $300+ shoddy appliances from Alibaba or $2000+ industry bullshit. Need to find out if these chinks are sending me correct lengths when I'm buying 1000meter packs.

Who else had done 3D printing here? Pic related is mine, did it on a Makerbot Z18.

My best friend's wedding is coming up, and for a gift, I wanted to alter Hopper's Nighthawks painting to include him and his soon to be wife (the painting has special significance for him). There are many parodies of the painting that have minor modifications, but I am incredibly unsavy when it comes to these things, and I am not sure how they were created. Google is doing very little for me, so could anyone point me in the right direction on how to get started with this project?

What is this or What can this be repurposed as?

Back yard ideas

The weekends are really boring in my town but the weather is beautiful. I have this big back yard and little DIY experience. In an effort for health and saving myself from being bored; any ideas on something I can build or construct somewhat cheaply back here? I already have a shed at the moment.

So uhhh I've never Really used tools before

I'm just trying to figure out how to really use the different tools in a tool kit and I was wondering if you guys had any advice on where to get started and how I should learn.

I am working on a hydraulic motor and after having a horrible nightmare about being shot in the eye I made some system pressure calculations which came to 12 psi. Can a 2mm thick welded ABS cylinder handle such pressures? Testing is no problem that's always done with safety goggles and behind a plexiglass screen but for general usage it needs to simply not blow up. The whole thing will be 3D printed.

Convince me to use PIC instead of AVR, considering that I already have a few AVR chips and can program them with an Arduino Uno programmed to work as an ISP. Can I program PIC's with my arduino?

Re-purposing an old RC car to be able to have cameras mounted on it and using velcro strips to mount in the circled area of the car. Just wanted to know if it's best to put the toothier or fluffier side of velcro on whatever someone would be mounting something on. So tooth or fluff side on the car, or does it not matter at all?

How feasible would it be for a person with little coding knowledge to make a raspberry pi webserver that would display information from sensors and relay commands over bluetooth to another microprocessor? I'd also possibly like to make an android app to handle the user interface. Am I reaching too far? Or is all of this relatively easy?
