So i've been trying to educate myself on common tools, and i've entered the phase of wondering the difference between an impact driver and drill. Now i know the difference, however, people normally say you want a drill because a driver has no clutch, but wouldnt a driver 1/4" hex to clutch make non hammer drills unnecessary completely? Impact drivers are normally higher in torque an rpm, and if you can give it a clutch why but a standard drill?

hello /diy/ I am not sure if this is the board for this but I am guessing this is the most appropriate place to ask. I applied for the Local 10 in Richmond VA on Tuesday and they made me take two tests and a board review. I aced the mechanical test but I left three questions blank on the math test. I also got a good feeling about the interview but didn't get an answer as to weather I got in or not. They liked my experience in core drilling and the fact that I am already a UA member. I was just wondering if me not getting an answer then and there is a sign of not getting in. I hear schooling starts in September and I would think that I would have an answer.
