Clothing Mods

Well, I posted this originally on /fa/, but perhaps /diy/ is the most apt place to post this on. Anyone have any article of clothing (especially sneakers, but any other shoe, jacket, shirt, anything) they've modified in one shape or form? For aesthetic reasons or otherwise? Post 'em here.

Watch Clip Adjustment

I'm having some trouble adjusting my watch strap. I removed some of the links to make it tighter but it's a little too tight and if I add another link is too loose. I can't find a sweet spot. I thought about moving the clip a little as it seems there's a hole further away for it to be put on. I want to move the little pin holding the strap with the clip from point "B" to point "A". The problem is every time I put the pin remover in the hole it just pushes it down a little but nothing moves on the other side, as if it's not one whole pin in there. Like its on a spring because when I move the pin remover the little pin moves back. Only the side I push the pin remover into will press down. I hope that description makes sense. So is this possible? Should I be using a different tool or did I misunderstand the mechanics?

What no welding thread? Well that dog just aint going to hunt! Share what you made when you were in "hurry up and wait mode" or bored in shop class and wanted to see what you could make with scrap.

Advice on Joinery tools

Hi, I am an apprentice carpenter and I love joinery and would love to make a few things in my spare time, but I have no tools to do so. I am here to seek some guidance from the more experienced people in this area who may be able to point me in the right direction regarding the purchases I make. Specifically speaking I am looking for affordable but good chisels and planes and saws for beginners. P.s I am open to any other advice/tips/guidance that you may have regarding joinery in general. Thank you!

So I'm making a lego bong and I need a means to seal this thing airtight and water tight. I was gonna use aquarium sealant and some super glue but i worry about the quantities of sealant involved. There has to be a better way to make this a safe smoking instrument, other than just slathering the insides with silicone and calling it a day. Any ideas? I was thinking if i got a bucket of one of those fancy silicones i could fill the insides, rotate it around and shit but i worry about it degrading over time. I need some serious shit here, boys. Help a brother out. Thanks.

Best drill press for $200-300? Features and height don't particularly matter, only what precision can be had at this price.

I am having le fucking problems with trying to paint a bike frame. It had deep scratches, I figured okay primer would fix this. -I sanded it down before applying paint just to get any raised bits. -put on primer, this didn't solve the problem, just made it more visible. -I got a high build primer with filler and put a lot of that on. -it was kinda lumpy like thick paint would be, -so I sanded that, then put normal primer on to see how it was doing. -still not smooth finish. - so I got some filler, skimmed that on as smooth as I could, -brushed on some cellulose thinners to get it even smoother. and blend in the hard edges. -sanded it after that to get it as smooth as I could, used my finger till I couldn't feel any bumps. -today I just re primed it, thick coat ontop. still looks like shit. where do I go from here. im just going to sand again and prime again after that.

For my father's birthday, I want to fix up our garage. About 1/3 of its floor is dirt where the concrete/cement has crumbled. The problem is, I know absolutely nothing about fixing floors. If anyone has any advice on material to use, brands, or how to make it level, that would be much appreciated.

hi /diy/, I came up with an idea and I want to know what the feasibility of it is. Would it be possible to hook up some small/medium sized engine to a single-speed bike? Pic related is a small diagram of my idea. You'll notice there are two colors. The black one is my first design, but I realized if I were to somehow mount a wheel to the front, I could also pedal with it to save gas. I was thinking maybe a lawnmower, or perhaps a chainsaw.
