Wanted to ask, I don't own a vacuum food sealer. Is it possible to cut the bags into different shapes? Say a circle or octagon? Planning on using it for crafts.

Hey guys, I am a Zbrush sculptor and I was wondering how I would be able to make toys and or figurines from 3d to real life? I see all these 3D printed models but quality wise they are terrible. Some of the Hot Toys artist work in Zbrush. Since most of you are clever folks here, I was wondering if you guys knew how to do this? From 3D to a full coloured figurine.

>tfw too /sci/ for /diy/ >tfw too /diy/ for /sci/ Anyone know this feel? If I post my ideas on /diy/ people complain it's too technical but if I post it on /sci/ they sperg that I havent used the latest theory.

Hello, I live in an apartment and I think that my neighbor spies on me. Every time I start a conversation I hear the sound of glass coming from my ceiling. My upstairs neighbor is a possible psycho and she loves to gossip. How do I check if she is really eavesdropping on me? I don't wanna beat on cold wood and play music all the time. I want to build my own eavesdropping device to check what she's talking about/the glass sound. I have a drill, mic, and basic soldering skills. I don't wanna buy anything expensive.

What are some cheaper PLC's that can handle higher direct output amps then this CLICK PLC? Pic related can handle .3 amps but the electromagnet I have in mind will run .33 amps. Would this work, or would I destroy the PLC? 24VDC.

So I just started a new job at a plant that makes seals, similar to pic related. Even though I'm new, I've been asked to sit in on a meeting regarding an issue they've had, and I think it would be nice if I had some input. As for the issue...the production crew has recently gotten into the bad habit of mixing up seals. For exampl.e, one seal might have be 4 x 5 (ID x OD), and it'll get dumped in with a box of seals that are 100mm x 125mm. Very close but not the same. Now we're trying to find a fast and simple way for the monkeys in production to differentiate things. Off the top of my head, I've thought of some kind of go/no go gauge, or some of visual marker or stamp. Any other ideas?

What kind of sensors and other stuff do I need to achieve this? Let's say those red and blue boxes are steel bars. Red bar is fixed, blue bar slides up and down. I need to attach a measurement to them so I know how much blue bar moves relative to the red bar. I'm looking through industrial stuff on rs-online but I have no idea what do I need.

General Question Thread

Ok I feel stupid for needing to ask this, what the fuck is this called? Its an outlet/socket/power I get that, but I'm looking up 2 things. First, one that has a usb built into it. Second, one with leds built in for a hall light. But I cant for the life of me look for this myself without knowing what the damn thing is called. Because this would be a useless thread after one post, lets also make this a general "my question is short, many people could answer it, but no idea where to put it" question thread.

So I'm doing yard work for a guy and he wants me to get a bunch of dead grass out and make the lawn just dirt (pic related) any one got a good way to do this easily? Right now the best I've found is to just take a weed Wacker to it all to get it down to dirt. That ident working to well either. Any advice would help
