Hello /diy/ I just bought my first drill, only cost me $99 due to major clearance sale and i would like to know how /diy/ manages these batteries. The manual says to keep them charged but with Lithium Polymer this would damage them, This drill uses Lion so kinda stumped on how to handle them. pic related

I was wondering how do this Chinese people make this toys? I mean, how do they put this "fire fire! Gdtyjfd! Fire fire! " sounds in this crap? This literally cost $1 Is there any specific "magic" components inside this garbage? I'm a mechatronics engineering students trying to make some cool projects and stuff I've already done some projects with micro/SD cards and audio file readers, they are not difficult, but they are not easier as I imagine this toy components are (maybe I'm wrong) Anyone knows how this magic works and how I can use it or make my own? Thanks anons Sorry for bad English

Building a cabin

Wanted to pick your guys brains on building a cabin out in the boonies. Idea is buy 5 acres near a lake, build a 2 bed 1 bath cabin, well, septic, and solar power. Id like to do as much as i can of that. Im an electrician now but was a framer for a short time. Main questions are: >can it be built for less than 50k? >are there any shortcuts like building plans for sale with parts lists? >what bits are best left to the pros? Has anyone here done a similar project?

so i think i mixed my resin wrong, im making a small teardrop bead with a bee i found encased in the middle, this isnt the first bug ive encased, but its the first one ive done that was so small. Normally its done by now, but it isnt, and i was wondering if i mixed it wrong, missed some kind of step, or if smaller things cure slower.

Sup /diy/. I'm in need of a good vacuum that can handle pet hair. Preferable a bagless model. I've been looking at the Shark Rotator Truepet (NV752). Any opinions? Better options? I prefer an upright as I don't have to worry about stairs.

I'm making myself one of these masks. I'm currently still sculpting it, and I was going to make a plaster mold of the sculpture to do the whole fiberglass mat thing later, but now I'm worried about those teeth locking it into the mold. They jut out quite a bit... Anyone with experience on this? Any tips? Thanks in advance.

I have a robot toy that I never threw away. Now I want to salvage it for the electronics inside and the motors in his limbs but I have no idea what these electronics are and if they are worth salvaging. What are these? Also will post more if you want me to.

This is my attic I'm trying to convert into a loft bedroom. Just finished getting closed cell insulating down and put up vapor barrier. I wanted to put up wood paneling for the walls but all my local home depot and rona have is shitty looking knotty pine and it's expensive as hell. I'm in Canada if that means anything.

I have this 74 AMC Javelin sitting in my driveway. I don't know anything about cars but sort of want to fix it, what would be a good place to start learning about older vehicles?

I just read up on the story of the "Killdozer" and it really got me thinking. What is the practicality and plausibility of a "killdozer suit" if you will? Basically, im thinking of a rectangular prism shaped block of rediculously thick armor plating, similar to the kind the "killdozer" used, and with cooling and air flow shit set up inside, with gun ports as well. Would it be possible, do you think?

Hey Diy, can you recommend a good non overpriced multimeter. Wherever I look I see fluke as top multimeter. Can you recommend a multimeter under 30 bucks. It doesn't have to be super accurate, however, auto-range would be nice. >pic related is very similar to what I'm using , its a few years old and can't go back to 0 sometimes.

So my laptop doesn't come with a CD drive, but it has this placeholder thing, and a cd-tray sized hole in the side. The placeholder screws came out so I can put whatever I want in there. There's access to some sort of SATA connection inside. I'm looking for ideas for what to put inside! I don't do enough drugs to make it a stash though. What I came up with so far: -a physical calculator -offline password keeper (push a physical button and it writes it out) -spare beef jerky stash Any other ideas? I want to do something interesting

HVAC Problem

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had any idea what might be going on. I have a payne furnace and A/C. The other day I noticed not much was coming out of my vents even though my AC was running. So I turned on the furnace and the same thing happened. So I turned both off and the fan on. I heard the fan run or something run. I could feel air coming out of a small hole near the red circle but above where the blue circle is would be a closed vent in my system. Which I wouldn't feel anything coming out of. After turning everything off and back on it suddenly decided to work. Then later on after the system shut itself down it did the same thing and wouldn't blow air even though it seemed to be running. At this point it seems like theres a 50/50 shot of it blowing air or not blowing anything even though I can feel stuff blowing out the red circle. Any suggestions or should I just call a repair place. The unit is only about 1.5 years old.

I have a few nice lil carbon fiber splinters in my finger. (Was a dumb fuck and grabbed a part) Barely visible. drew a dot of blood when I tried to dig one out. Am I gonna die? Don't know how to get these little shits out and I don't want to spend my day tomorrow at urgent care.
