Hey guys, I have a few PSU's What are my options to do something useful/interesting. I've already made a bench power supply, a usb charger array, and powered a car deck and speakers to make a really dope speaker system with bluetooth. I have a few more left. Any Ideas?

How to check what is taking electricity in my house? Last months electricity bill showed that I used 1300 kWh in my apartment. I have a fridge that is medium sized, a small boiler that takes 1.5kW and also a computer and electric oven. If I calculate say my boiler's usage, I would guess that it probably works 6 hours a day in the worst case scenario. That would be 9kWh per day and 270 per month. The fridge is a bit old and has no energy markings on it expect that it is "class A". But I imagine it should take less than the boiler. Other appliances get turned on rarely, only in case of need. So my question is, would anyone have an idea how to prove how much I am actually using. Because according to my knowledge I should not be spending that much kWh a month. My bills are ridiculous for such a small apartment.

Got this all at a garage sale for $65 Did I do good /diy/? Never really done anything with tubes, but each box was $20 and there has to be atleast 50 in each box, and looking a couple up ranged from $5-$20ea on ebay. They had atleast 10 more boxes exactly the same, and 20 more radios of different types ranging from $25-$45. Should I go back for more tomorrow? Maybe buy in bulk and strike a deal?

So I have a small problem; I have subs in my car but my amp is shit and can't push them all. Too broke to buy a new amp and I tried it and it can run any 2 but not all 3. I have a 10, a 12, and a 2x8. I want a box where I can turn each individual speaker on and off. I already have a box to turn the entire rig up/down but all of the speakers are running off of a single source and the box that turns them all up and down is connected to the amp but not the speakers directly through a phone cable. Tl;dr need a speaker selector box DIY looked up some on YouTube but still can't understand

Hey diy/. Need some help with a home project. I recently read a book called the battery builders, i got on amazon. Very interesting book, teaches how to rebuild lead acid batteries. It also somewhat shows how to build a Plante cell. The original battery. It got me interested because I have a small solar system and I want long term batteries. The Plante cell is the definition of deep cycle battery, not the plate style thin stuff you see in marine or even golf cart batteries. I want to make my own but I need more information. I've googled for hours but google as of late just seems to give me the same results over and over again. Really I need to find a source of good thick cases and separators. I am told the standard thickness is 1mm and the holes should be extremely fine. I will likely use a hobby drill if i have to make my own. Any ideas? I looked at lead prices online. Very expensive compared to the actual market value of lead. 2 dollars vs 79 cents. I might start with a test cell made of plastic perf board and a mason jar. Dig up some fishing weights and give it a go. I have a adjustable power supply that can do 10 amps so for small cells I can do for now and later make a series and use a larger 20 amp power supply. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? I am trying to plan for the future. I dont see good times and I live off the solar system. I want a battery i can make myself. What good is a battery bank if it falls apart in 10 years and I have no money to replace it or they dont even sell them anymore?

My dad has about half a gallon of muriatic acid that my idiot brother bought because he needed some hardware to weld on but was too lazy to find non-plated. I have been tasked to find out how to store it indefinitely. It's currently in a glass jar but it's pretty obviously leaking, I assume from the vapor eating the gasket on the lid. What material and shape of container would be able to store this shit without it seeping out and eating everything in the garage?

I got this in my workshop/old maids room I assume they are fuses? They have 30A500v rating on them. My workshop is only 220v with 2 double outlets on the same line and 2 ceiling lights and that is all the electrical in there. I want to move/add some more double outlets on the other side of the room and I am not too familiar with fuse breakers. Is there anything I should consider, other than opening the circuit, before beginning?

What's the cheapest/most efficient way to distill water? I don't really want to go out and buy a distillation flask or professional condensor, what can I rig up instead? Reason: city water is shit, kinda like that Michigan scandal, want to make it drinkable water.

I've just given an apartment to rent a house. I want to have a Hank Hill-tier lawn, but it's currently half grass half weed. If I dump pictures of the weeds, can /diy/ help identify them and their best removal method? The lawn is in Australia.
