Snap-On

$10,325.00 USD Ten thousand three hundred and twenty five dollars. Was the steel used in this box folded a thousand times and is strong enough to cut through tanks? How do the Snap On salesmen get poor mechanics to pay this much for a tool box when the money could go 1/10 of the way on a fucking home mortgage instead? Why would the owner of a shop pay this much for a box? Do they hire the world's dumbest accountants to budget the cost of tools for them?

Hi /diy/, I'm back again with more boat repair problems. In the process of cutting out the floor, I finally accepted that the only way to get all of it out and do the best job possible is to pry the cap off. Fast forward to today: rub rail is off, rivets out, adhesive around the sides cracked. The bow and sides came up easy, but the transom area of the cap refuses to budge. I have removed all the putty, cracked all the glue behind the splashwell, etc, and still it refuses to pop off. What the hell am I doing wrong? Pic is what I'm working with.

Hey /diy/ first time posting here, I want to build a classic wooden chest, but I'm new to woodworking so I need some dirt cheap materials to build a few "practice" pieces. Are shipping pallets made of sturdy enough wood for this? Max weight I'd put in it 100ibs.

Questions that don't deserve their own thread general. Hi /diy/ I have one similar to pic related. I've managed to get the leaking jammed alkaline battery out. I'd use a mild acid to clean it but its aluminium and that would wreck it. >Best substance to clean it with??? Sure I could just throw it out but /diy/.

Super I2S Project

Hey guys, I know you still interest in those things and I know you can help me with my new project. I want to make a new sound system for my working laboratory which allow sound experience: I want to use a processor (IMX6L) and some DAC/amplifier (TAS5760M) embedded in each speaker box to drive them. The ULTIMATE purpose is to manage the EQ and volume of each speaker via I2S. Here on the next picture is my electronic arch, I got in hands the I2C configuration with a beautiful Nucleo F303 code. And I know how to send data to the DAC/Amplifier with an audio precision tool. I have to manage my time to produce double sided PCB and make those 5 little boards (currently using a bad looking prototype). Lets say this part is quite OK. Here is my asking: I 'm not very good devellopper myself but I really want to do this project, what piece of software (linux style of course) do you know (as ALSA for example) that could allow me to: 1) route three configurable I2S output on IMX6? 2) manage EQ and volume on them?

Starting to think Hitler might have been onto something. How can they charge so much for such a small "home." I've been wanting to build a tiny home for more than six years now, and I'd always expected roughly $20k-30k. It's got to be more than just "people want them now." I'm I doomed to live in a normal house/apartment...?

You are on a stranded island with a plane that crashed on the beach. There are about 20 other surviving passengers. You are not allowed to look at any pictures of a plane, boat, or tools to referance how to build craft to escape. Only your memory.(That means no Googleing) But you have to survive and build a craft to escape the island. Explain how you would Do It Yourself. >I would try to find a map in the Pilots to have an Idea where the hell my island is.

shitty gas chainsaw wont run

9 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
So my poulan chainsaw is giving me hell. It was sitting on a shelf for over 5 years. I replaced all the fuel lines, spark plug, air filter and fuel filter. The chainsaw starts with starting fluid but doesn't stay running. I disassembled the carb and it was very clean like the saw didn't see much use ( I inherited it , so i don't know) , the diaphragm was also still flexible and in working order. Not sure what else to check. Any ideas?

I'm working on restoring/repairing an old house. How do I fix gaps between the transition from wood to the roof shingles? I think birds might be living in some of them.

21 year old guy here. How do I learn how to do things like this? How do I learn to create things and repair? I have no father figure and never learned these things. What tools should I have, where should I begin? What kinds of projects should I start with? Thank you for all advice!
