So I was talking to a friend and he was telling me how his grandfather built a hunting cabin by hand (nothing fancy by any means) and it got me interested in the idea in learning how to build a house. Tldr: how do people learn to build houses?

Can I hook up this car sub to my home speakers? My new car has solid sound so I don't really need it for that. I have kinda shitty speakers at home not too worried about quality.

I found this knife when out for a walk. Is there a good way to get rid of the rust? This is only on the surface and the steel underneath looks fine. Can I get advice on the best cheap product to help remove rust and protect the blade? I have WD40, but what else is good for this? Thanks.

10 extra circuits in my car, wat do /diy/

So I'm rewiring my car (1972 Datsun 240Z) with a "universal" 22 circuit wiring harness kit from E-Z Wiring, and with all my stock equipment in, I'm only using 12 circuits. That leaves me with a looooot of loom and room to play with. I've already sourced a two-tone siren, and I have my greatest Pick-N-Pull find, an F.I.A.M.M dual trumpet horn with compressor for like $6. Sounds like a train horn. Regardless, I still have 10 more circuits to play with. What should I install? >pic related, what's she's getting terrifyingly close to looking like

Clay general? As far as I know, you can just moisten clay and work with it right? I made this furnace cover, but the clay keeps cracking when it dries. Would there be any way to prevent this? Are there any games that can make you better at understanding mechanics, electrics, or other DIY stuff? Like, physics games for fundamental building principles, or quizzes about materials and plants.

I have a compact body massager at home and recently I was thinking if I could possibly speed up the process in which it moves without ruining the massager itself. I was wondering if you guys if their is anyway I could do that.

Hi, /diy/. So I'm considering locations for buying some land and building a little wood cottage. Consider it an out of the way camp, not connected by any roads or anything. Just a private crashing pad. The problem is.. I have no idea where to start looking for open lots and where. Is there some tool that we can use to locate state owned land that we can purchase? And see where other people own deeds and property in a given state on an interactive map, like Google? You'd think the state Ministry of Deeds would have something like that just on hand. A big ole grid of properties and who owns what, where. And moreover, whom doesn't own jack and where. Is there a tool or resource like that online? The closest I've been able to find is just Google Maps showing the borders for each town. Heck. Who knows? Maybe if it's financially feasible, I could scrape a bunch of land together and found a town, or something.

I'm thinking of buying a log cabin kit from one of those Amish logger companies. The kid includes all of the frame work and plans. It doesn't include the foundation, actual doors, windows, plumbing, electric, etc. How much extra would I be looking at to build the cabin after the cost of the kit? I tried asking them but they just kept shilling their own service that builds it all for you and wanted a bunch of information for a quote. How much would it cost extra to /diy/ it, aside from hiring licensed tradesman to do some of the work like electric, house inspection, etc. Am I looking at at least double the cost of the kit? So a $60K kit would cost $180K total to build? I know it's very vague, but it's all I got. I want it completely off the grid so I will be setting up solar panels, digging a well, etc.
