Hey /diy/ I am building an electrical assembly that has lithium ion batteries. Three 3.7V 9800mAh batteries are used in series to power a motor with 6-12V 2Amp draw. I need them to be rechargeable via USB, but the charging chips I bought are not allowing enough current to pass though. Does anyone have a solution to this? The current chips I am using are these: https://www.amazon.com/Lithium-Battery-Charging-Charger-Protection/dp/B00QGVP944/ref=pd_sim_107_6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=R9GXWX5BJ6JS4T0F501S Any idea of where to find one that will work for my situation? Or any advice on how to build one myself? Thanks /diy/ I am not an electrical engineer by training.

Downspout pin

Hey /diy/ here's a cheap little diy pin I made for the downspouts that lay across my lawn. It was annoying having to either not screw them together and have them loose or screw them together and bring out the screwdriver every time I mowed the lawn. Need: wire coathanger, drill, 1/8" bit, vice or good pliers. Snap off about 3" of the coathanger Bend it into the shape shown using vice Drill hole into where your downspout connects Put the pin into the the hole starting from the 90 degree bend and it will never fall through the hole or come out unless you pull it out.

I have an aircraft alternator. Would it be stupid to try utilizing it on like a static bike to use it to charge anything?

Need throttle help

I got a motor controller from an old amigo and it has reverse. The nuetral voltage is 2.5 and reverse is lower and forward is respectivly higher. My question is does anyone know of a electric scooter throttle (the handlebar kind) that would fit into the voltage requirements? Or itd be even better if i could figure out how to wire a switch so i could have a solid throttle to go forward and hit a switch and the throttle becomes reverse? Any help is appreciared and i know im a noob, ty for your time.

Any ideas for making a temporary outdoor garage? I'm thinking using plywood, pvc pipes, plastic sheets, that kind of stuff. The image I posted is some idea but I think that fucker would fly away in a heavy wind.

So I've got these four trees in my backyard that are in a square and are spaced roughly 120"-250" apart and I want to build a suspended deck with a small guest bedroom between them. My problem I am encountering is how I am going to fix the beams to the trees. A contractor friend of mine suggested using tree attachment bolts (pic related) which are about $60-$200 depending on specs. I would need 6 of them so that adds up to around $400, which I don't want to spend. I want to just bolt some beams to the trees and have my support beams rest on top, but my friend strongly suggested against doing this. Does anyone know of another way to secure 4X6 beams to a tree that doesn't require $400 worth of bolts?

I ordered a school desk online from another country, and it seems that at some point during delivery, the legs got skewed. How do I fix this? Returning it for a new one isn't really an option. Seeing as how its from another country, this option would probably cost a lot and take a long time to be completed.

Trying to repair headphones and I haven't found a tutorial with this wire configuration. I was wondering if anyone knows which goes to left and right pin and which goes to ground.

Does anyone know what this metal is? Found a bar roughly the dimensions of a piece of gum on the sidewalk. I can bend it with my fingers and could score it with a knife.

I already asked this in /biz/ but you guys can probably be more helpful. Is the threat of automation a legit concern to someone who wants to start a long-term career as a trucker? This is my dream job and I'm ready to sign up to a driving school, but I don't want to get my hopes up yet.

touch sensitive switches

Anyone know how to make touch sensitive switches that can handle higher current? I basically just want a square tile or whatever shape that i can touch to close a circuit and touch again to open. Could I get one of those modules they sell to make lamps and shit turn on when you touch them and just wire it up to a square of aluminium and wire the other side to a power mosfet?

I'm looking to mill out an 80% lower receiver (genuinely 100% not related to the election), Where could I find a workshop with a drill press that would permit me to make this?

Is it safe to leave tops on propane torches? Do they leak I use mine in my garage but I also bring it in the house to use for dabbing shatter or wax. I always worry it might leak if I leave the handle on after I'm done using it indoors

WOODWORKING AND JOINERY

whats the coolest thing you've made from wood? I have questions about joinery... like how do you make certain joints? (labelled here as the "mortise and tennon" "lap" and "box" joints) I have a project that might require actual joinery and the concept frightens and intrigues me...
