Say I wanted to secure a flexible bearing to a carbon fibre beam to allow it to act as a leaf spring. How could I do this without machining the carbon fibre? I can only think of clamping it but I'm not sure whether the friction would be high enough to fully constrain it

Does anyone know what the hell this is and what it is used for?

I need to cheaply partition my apartment to reduce heat loss. I nee to separate the living room from the rest of the apartment. I was looking into buying heavy drapes, or curtains, and just hanging them there. My ceiling height is a little over 9ft. Whats the best product to buy on the cheap, and hang it so to partition the place. It doesn't need to slide, so a few ceiling hooks will do.

What item would you use to fasten A and B (both 1/4" thick aluminium) to one another? I'm thinking of something like a 90° angle bracket BUT with holes countersunk the other way (see pic in next post) Can't seem to find anything that matches this description, and I've been looking all day. Does such a product exist? If not, what product should I be using instead? TL;DR version: I have 4 aluminum hollow square tubes, welded into a hollow rectangle. I have plates cut out of the side face (B in pic) so I can access the motors and electronics on the inside (should happen very rarely). The fastener just has to hold the plate in place for long periods of time without rattling.

I got two big heatsinks for an old bitcoin miner, what is something I can use them for? I can't use them in an actual PC because I'm missing mobo mounts

What's the secret to getting plywood furniture to look good? I've got some bedroom furniture pieces in mind that would only really work in blonde plywood, but I'm not sure if I can pull it off or not. Is it just that you have to complete them to a high level of finish? Or do they only look good with hipstergram filters?

So after a fight over phone data between a shared plan, my girlfriends brother locked one cat in his room and somehow got the other one to climb in the ceiling before proceeding to go out and get plastered. After saving the cat from the ceiling, were hoping no permenant damage was done due to fibreglass inhalation. However in the meantime i want to get back at this abusive asshole. Does anyone know how to synthisize fake cat urine so i can dump it all over his room?

Why do people pay so much for this shit? I saw one online go for $50k, and I can't figure it out. It looks like the materials would cost, at most, $10k. And that's if you go all out on it.

I want to rig up a system in my house that triangulates my position within the house, but I don't think NFC receivers would be able to a)detect distance or b)pick up my cell phone across a room. What other things would work for this?

I just got a model CECHA01 Playstation 3. From what I can tell, the lifespan of these things are really short due to the cheap lead-free solder cracking from repeated exposure to high temps and then cooling down again. Would it be a better idea just leaving the console on indefinitely so the system never cools completely? Or is using the machine at all just going to wear down the joints anyway? Do PS3s even break down as much as people say they do?

>buy chink PSU for LED lighting(looks like pic related) for extremely cheap >take it home, wire it up >it works >but there's no continuity between the earth pin and the chassis Should I ground it myself with a piece of wire, or is it okay?
