I have a friend who is building an electric motorcycle and wants a good place to buy lithium-ion batteries. Does anyone know any online store that sells good batteries?

I bought budget soldering pen called Zhaoxin X4. We know it burn out after not so long time, especially the budget ones. And i was wondering, can I make heater?? Like 50W. Problem is that the heater is pretty compact, it can be no more than 3,95mm so wiring cant be done with fat wire, more like like all of them with 0,1mm wire i guess. This particular 40W (as said on the box...) is 850R resistance heater with dimensions 3,8x65mm, but soldering point can be nailed with 4mm thick. Does anyone how many cm of wire chinks could used? Or anyone know how many ohm/meter and thickness to use and how long wire?

Anyone have a recommendation on what kind of glue would be good for gluing some kind of siliconized rubber to a plastic? My band broke off on my wrist fitness tracker thing. I'm assuming something like loctite epoxy plastic bonder would work? Would Gorilla glue work, since I actually have some of that?

Anybody own one? I'm looking for an entry level CNC mill for assorted projects. Would I be better off buying a more advanced one used on craigslist/kijiji?

Hi, my pool recently started getting these suds all over the surface. I can make it go away by mixing the water up a little, but it comes back after a while. I have no clue whats causing this. Any ideas?

My first time tinning/soldering to a pcb, second time soldering anything. Am I getting the general gist? Sometimes it blobs up and doesn't want to stick and other times it will flow onto the board fine, is this me not heating the board enough? It seems to get gooey and that seems to make the solder stick even less. This is all new to me.

Refurbish Metal Vaporizer

Hello diy A friend got this vaporizer a while ago and now it looks pretty used. How do I refurbish it? I am at my father's house so I have a lot of tools which I can use. Unfortunately I only made things out of wood till now, so I don't have any experience working with metal

hello /diy/pshits, anons, trips and etc.been busy, but these threads usually get a couple dozen decent posts before it turns into a bunch of people going "you're a useless cunt, no one cares, blah blah" same normal shit that is on a sri lankan shell trading website everyday. feel free to ask whatever shit. lowesfags and menardfags are also welcome to make this a retailhardwaregeneralthread. ps: your stupid customer service experience is probably half your fault but you're too ignorant of your own surroundings to understand this. pps: we don't stock _x_ because one of the following reasons... a) 99 out of 100 people will never use it, so us, being a corporate retailer will not stock that kind of thing because we'd lose money. b) we could not get a contract with a good company nor will our in-house companies that we've bought over the years make an item at the moment without major retooling, which again is not profitable most likely. i guarantee you some bean counter somewhere did the math and there was a mostly useless meeting where a decision was made where number _____, which was how much money they'd make not selling what you want was higher than other number ____,, in which they sell what you want. ppps: we work retail. if we were master electricians/plumbers/carpenters/etc we'd be out with those of you who are making the hundreds per hour a skilled technician commands. the sooner you understand that, the better your retail shopping experience will get at any of these places.

Record Barking for Evidence

48 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
So some neighbors have Great Danes that they put out every evening around 6 to bark continuously until 10 pm. As has been my experience with dog owners, they ignore complaints. I called animal control but they are off work at 5 and the dogs aren't out or don't bark during the day. Before Animal Control will do anything they claim to need evidence that "will stand up in court". I thinking something that will record the barks with a timestamp and then can be summarized in a log. Maybe a directional microphone connected to a computer recorder which only activates when barks are detected. Maybe something like Audacity with a threshold detector. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.

I can't think of the name for this, but I need one. It's like a chain pully with a hook on it. My intent is to use it to double back a chain and double my pulling force

"This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer." Is there anything that doesn't have this label? I'm glad California and Vermont have passed other laws to do things like bring the lead down in brass fittings to under .25% but even when the brass meets their own safety guidelines it still has this fucking label. I actually care about my safety so I typically pay atention to this stuff but I now ignore this California mandated label because it is on fucking everything. It's pretty much just as bad as no label at all. Do you pay attention to this label?

Angle Grinder with Plastic Gears

20 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
I have found something truly amazing - a angle grinder with plastic gears! Found it in the bottom of a box of junk from an estate sale. Theres a black plastic driven bevel gear and a white plastic drive. The stator coils were burned out but the gears looked fine. The brushes were in crooked and half destroyed. I'm pretty sure its not intended to be a toy, it has a standard 5/8-11 mounting.

Self Sustaining Communities

0 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
I'm interested in learning what the skills and infrastructural knowledge required to establish and maintain a self-sustaining home/community on a sizeable piece of land through farming, etc. I've been working a fairly nice IT job from ages 19 to 24 and because I don't spend on things outside of food/housing/transport - I've got a sizable amount in savings. Right now I'm looking to find a community or group that accepts outside members who are willing to work in exchange for room and board. My issue is I don't want to deal with crazy people if possible, which seems to be the only type of people interested in this kind of shit. I don't have some sort of new world order bullshit fear, I just have a hardon for self reliance. Working a 9 to 5 job feels like a lot of middle man for the two things I want - which are food and shelter. I'd rather work a field/hunt/tend livestock and get relatively full control over my life. I like the idea of knowing that I rely on nobodt else for my livelihood. Right now the two best resources I've found for what I'm looking for are WWOOFing opportunities, but those seem like relatively laid back experiences for "year before college" kids, or living in a catholic monastary - but they have a heavy emphasis on spirtuality (obviously) which doesn't interest me at all. (I also just posted this to /out/, trying to cover bases at the suggestion of another anon on /trv/.)
