Installing Window in Sheetrock

5 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Hey /diy/kes, quick question. I wanna put a small window in a wall. I got a 'new construction' type vinyl window, and the outside of my house is stucco. Can I just cut the stucco to the exact size of the window and screw/nail the window flange into the stucco (with felt paper/flashing/caulk), or should I rip the stucco out enough that I can nail the window into the frame (with felt/flashing/caulk) and then glob stucco back in around it? I'm lazy, but I also want the window to be okay. I don't really care what it looks like, I just want a decent seal. Thanks fellas.

First time poster here, didn't know if I should post on /ic/ or /adv/ but here goes This girl I'm seeing has me head over heels and I want to make her something for Valentine's Day since she hates hallmarky corporate cards. Her favorite movie is The Silence of the Lambs so I figured I would blow my paycheck tomorrow at Michael's and get some craft materials. I can't decide whether or not to make a clay garden gnome strapped to a board with the mask on or to make a stuffed animal death's head hawk moth. Do any of you have any knowledge of making stuffed animals that don't come from build a bear? I really think I'm in love with this girl and want to make her something nice and movie related. Sorry for blog post

This is a fuck up from me and me not researching enough on this, but I was trying to hang up this guitar mount and I made the holes too big and the mount itself is wobbling around, it's not secure to the wall at all. What should I do here? Is there some kind of adhesive thing I can get? I don't think screwing new holes would fix anything and I wanna cover those holes up somehow. What's my course of action here? Thanks.

Hello /diy/ Have any of you made a power rack for a homegym? I'm worried that the materials will be costly.

Can anyone recommend me a hobby I could do at my desk? something that I could do with my hands, maybe something I could work at getting good with over time? I'm done with PC's, I'm selling all my shit. I just have had enough. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys (and gals)

DIY surround sound setup.

1 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
I'm trying to DIY a surround sound system using some old stereo speakers and a home theater receiver. I have 5 identical full range speakers and a receiver. I am outputting the audio using 3.5 mm jacks on the computer to RCA on the receiver. Everything works well except the center channel sounds 'muted'. I have no subwoofer. In Windows' speaker controls, I have set my system as 7.1 and disabled the side speakers and the subwoofer. 5.1 doesn't have 'rear' speakers for some reason so that gets it closest to my actual setup. I've tested it in 5.1 with no improvement. I've swapped the speakers and cables around, so they are not the cause of the soft sounding center. Is it the receiver? Windows? My settings? Are centers just quieter than the L and R channels? Is it because it is shared with the sub channel? I have a workaround. I just boost the volume to the center channel in the receiver's settings. Ideally, though, I want to get this right.

I got a small granite surface plate so I could lap things as flat as I can with sandpaper, but now that I have it, one question comes to mind. What adhesive should I use to fix sandpapers and such to the top such that it: A. Leaves no residue when the sandpaper is removed, and B. Can be spread on between the plate and sandpaper thinly and evenly so as not to overtly affect the flatness of the surface I'm not a machinist or a measurements geek but still, nothing really comes to mind.

What are my options for fixing this steering wheel? Steering wheel covers are junk, replacements are expensive. I've made door cards and trimmed foam from car seats, so I have a little upholstery experience.
