Wanna build a lap-steel guitar, not just cause i want to have a lap steel guitar but i want to learn as much as i can about electric guitars.
I dont care about the looks, just functionality, want to build as much as i can myself and i want to spend as few as possible (student)
Will try to do it as simple as possible
Here are my questions:
>1. As i want to learn as much as i can about it, i want to add as many mods as possible. Things like a kill switch, a tone knob and a volume knob. Any other ideas for things i could add?
>2. According to youtube videos it's not hard to wind a p90 pickup myself. Could i just use regular magnets or do i have to use special magnets? should i get the components or a pickup winding kit for around 20 bucks? which would be cheaper?
>3. Is there any way to build the machine heads myself with basic home tools? (this'll probably be the hardest part, if its even possible without 1000 hours of hard work)

So I recently got my first jigsaw. The exact one in this pic.
It's nice, handy. Does a great job, but I have one problem; cutting in a straight line. This shit has a laser sight and all, I know it's me that's the problem.
My question is: does woodworking get easier with time? Obviously I would assume practice makes perfect, but I just need some reassurance.
I literally started working with wood a week ago, and have absolutely zero prior experience.

Hey /diy/, i just got my first arduino board, i'm thinking about making a space ship.... anybody know where i should start? I'm not trying to make it strong enough to carry me to space, but i at least want to make it carry my dog (he's a black lab)
I have a little experience in electronics (i modded an xbox original once (tried to do my 360, but couldn't figure where the dvd drive was??) ) so i think i have most of the electronics side down what i need help with is figuring out how to store oxygen in a liquid form. but what really troubles me most is actually getting back from either venus or mars.
idk, i think i might need another arduino board for the lights
