Miniature fog machine using e-cigs?

For cosplay purposes, I needed a really tiny fog machine. I figured that e-cigs would be the best way to do it, as per this video:
I picked up four of them up for around 3 bucks a pop, making sure to get the ones where the cartomizer and battery were separable. Having separated them, I now face the issue of power. I was loosely following this video
It claims you can use AA batteries, but either I'm not hooking them up correctly or several of them in series aren't delivering enough juice. How would I be able to make a portable power source for these? The smaller the better.
How long do the disposable ones usually run before the coil burns out? Refilling the cartridges isn't a huge issue, but the coils burning out while at a con would be a huge pain in the ass.
Lastly, will I be able to simply replace the padding with the nicotine in it, or will I have to run it till its dry?

Hello, /diy/'ers. I've just finished building a soundproof door out of MDF and Green Glue. Now I need a soundproof gasket to go around the perimeter along the edge of the stop like these:
However, I will be building my own adjustable gaskets, but I need a good padding material. Neoprene rubber comes up a lot in my searches, but I don't want peel/stick. The only trustworthy place I can find is also TMSoundproofing who offers this:
I'd like to get about 20 feet of it, but that's ridiculous at $2.60 per sq ft since I am going to need about 17 feet. Does anyone know of any good gasket material without peel/stick? Does anyone think the price TMS is offering is outrageous?
