I want to get into the scrap metal business. I already have a pickup truck in good condition that I could use. The problem is, I don't know where to begin to search for places to sell scrap to, or even where to find any scrap.
If any of you guys have experience with scrapping, could you give a newbie some help and tips?
Also, scrapping general.

So I've been wanting to make a solid chopping block from a cross-section of a tree trunk for a while.
> pic related
My neighbour has just had a Liquidambar removed from their garden and it's lying chopped up on their nature-strip. I've found a couple of good, solid pieces approx 10-15cm high, and around 20-30cm diameter.
So, my question is - how do I prepare the wood to be used in the kitchen? I know the idea is to stop it drying out too quickly and splitting, and I've read people suggest different things, from wrapping it in cling-wrap to coating it with beeswax. Liquidamabar seems quite sappy so I don't know if this will affect it.
I don't have much experience working with wood, so any advice would be appreciated.

Hey /diy/ I need to ask something.
Are there any diy guides or tips and advice on how to build a vehicle such as a car from the ground up? I've seen many cars now becoming more efficient, and I want to see if learning about the anatomy of a car might help me understand things such as what cars can use alternative fuels to function, or even ways to convert said car to run on said fuel. Forgive my ignorance on said subject, as I do not know much on the subject.
Pic sort of related. This car runs on compressed air, and can drive for 200km on 1€ allegedly. Can other cars do this, or it has to be made for it?
