i want to build a simple device, but i don't know how to wire it. basically i want to run power from a battery to a switch that, when on, will slide a little pannel open, revealing a spool of cable that you can pull on, and when off, will close the pannel and reel the cable in.
if it's easier i can forget about the reeling of the cable in, just the sliding pannel would be enough.
is something like this possible for someone with like no experience?

I don't come here very often, so I'm sorry if you see a thread like this a lot.
I'm looking into ways to make money, so I can be stable.
I'm a 20 year old single father who has no education beyond high school.
I'm really struggling to live a happy stress free life, but right now I work my ass off all the time, and barley getting paid.
As of now I'm back at my parents house, but I'm really looking to move out, buy a shitty house and fix it up, and be stable for me and my daughter.
I've been looking at new jobs here in there, but I want to know what you guys have to say.
Making money thread.

I'm pretty new here, and I was wondering if it would be possible for me to disassemble some earbuds, remove the speakers, and use them for something.
If you have any recommendations, shoot.
I was thinking the cliche altoid can speaker, but I'm not sure how I would go about amplifying the sound, or what I would need to do this.
Head-mounted Telescopic Monocular

Alright, I admitted my defeat and decided to seek help from people who are actually good in DIYing. I've always wanted to make a telescoping headmounted monocular (pic semi-related, screw the steampunk style it looks bloody ridiculous). I only want it for one eye.
As a background info, it will be used in scouting and spotting for my sniper. With an assault rifle ready, it's kind of hard and time-consuming to pull out your binoculars out of a bag in the battlefield, much less when a nearby squad is under fire.
In the end, I want a near-normal view when retracted, high-zoom when extended. I know how to do all of the telescopic work to make the pieces extendable but have no knowledge of lense-work.
Any good chap willing to help?
