Not sure if this is the right place to ask but ... I have a ceiling fan. Recently the bulb died and I replaced it with another one. This new bulb kept turning on and off and eventually blew out less than a week after I put it in. After this, none of my bulbs work, all I get is a clicking sound coming from the ceiling fan. I tried putting in brand new bulbs and same thing. But if I take out all the bulbs and turn light switch on, there's no clicking. The fan still works. Anyone have a clue? Loose wire, something burn out?

Does anyone in Kiev know anything about construction? Look at the sad state of those barricades! I can't be the only one thinking that they could really benefit from someone with real working knowledge of construction.

This is broken. How to fix it, or in particular, where to buy a new one? I guess the socket is E27. btw, "ilesa" means unbroken, sound in many languages like portugese, spanish, italian (w/double l)... It's also a city in nigeria making it hard to google for lamps of that name...

Ok good folks of /diy/ I need the help. I have a bad smell i my kitchen, bad as in rotten milk/cheese or seriously bad breath (old people breath). I cant find the source of this fucking smell, already been checking every singe god-abandoned corner in my kitchen. I clean my kitchen every week and I can't find anything rotting (not gasleak, stove, refigirator or trash related). I am hoping you you guys have some experience with locating bad smell. So any ideas on how to locate the source of this clusterfuck of a smell? This has come to the point where me and my imaginary girlfriend are just about to move out. Picture somewhat related.

Hi /diy/, I was wondering if you could help me out with this. I have a robot with an ultrasonic sensor mounted on a stepper motor, and I want to be able to record odometry/distance travelled by targeting the sensor at a reflector (the dots), measuring the distance between the reflector and the robot and through multiple measurements, be able to extrapolate the distanced travelled (Y) from X to X'. By the looks of it the data is basically in polar form (distance and angle), which can then be converted to a point on a Cartesian plane. Given the multiple points, I was thinking about using some trig to find the distance travelled but I'm not exactly sure. Can anyone help?

I need your help!! Currently in college and renting a townhouse and I want to do some cool (or what i call cool) stuff to the walls in my bedroom. For one wall I am looking to find wallpaper that you can draw on for artwork (something like attached picture, but without the black lines, I want to draw that in). What type of material wallpaper should I use? I would rather use something that wont tear up the wall when i decide to move and take it down.

Hey /diy/ so I'm looking to get into leather working. I just want to start simple, maybe a few belts, wallets and basic bags. Eventually I want to make shoes but I'm thinking that would be pretty advanced. Anyone got any advice or experience with this they can help me out with? Maybe even some links to beginner sets of tools required?

Hey. I'm installing a washer in my bathroom. The problem? no drainage pipe. I have to figure out how to connect a drain to the kitchen sink plumbing. Is it possible to tie the drain into the sink drain pipe somehow? Should I trap it and vent it?
