hey /diy/ I found a really old manual washing drum, it is basically a 20 gallon drum (pic related) on legs, but a lot older and looks pretty cool I want to turn it into an ice box thing for drinks when I have a party The problem is the bottom is a little rusty I was thinking of painting the insides & bottom with a tar like substance? will that fix it? and if so, how do I go about doing it? Much thanks

Can anyone get me a schematic to a Zenith G510-Y? I need to put in a new power cord, but I don't know where the leads go. I'd greatly appreciate it. Also RadioMuseum has it but I need a membership and I don't wanna pay 25 dollars just to read an image for 20 seconds.

Hey /diy, I made this. Rip away.

How to break down concrete?

I'm working on a house, and right now there's this big concrete block that's in between the kitchen and the living room that I'd like to get rid of. Kind of stupid design, I know. Tell me /diy/ how would I break apart and get rid of a large concrete block that's reinforced by rebar with the minimum amount of noise? Picture related. Looks kind of like that, but attached to the ground. Looks like they set it on site.

since plumbing seems to be a common topic, ask away. i also thought about making a how to thread on soldering. and i mean more detailed than cut, clean, paste, heat, solder, cool. i wanna tell you guys all the little trick and shit profesionals do to make it look good and not leak the first time. so i guess this thread is a poll for interest.

Hey /diy/ I have been given a trailer to live in but I need to gut it 100 percent. I have several people with experience for help with a lot of it but this is an opportunity to buy my own power tools for the project, but what should I get? How do all the brands stack up next to each other? Pic related, one of the rooms I'll be dealing with

The lighting fixture in my shower has gone and i need to change it, but i can't figure out how to get into the lightbulbs. It is a all-in-one unit that has lights, heating elements and a fan, and it is built into a recess in the false ceiling. there are no clips or screws that i can find in it, and pressing on eihter the clear screen of the light bulb cover or the silver face does nothing in helping locate a way to gain access. Does any anon know what this type of fixture is called? or how to open it/change the bulbs? i have done a google for variants on 'shower ceiling light', but have found none that also have the heating element or are similar enough. my apartment building has a handyman, but i'd rather fix this myself. Thanks for any help pic related

Raised Garden Beds

Not sure if this was supposed to be on /out, since they have a few garden threads, but this about the actual construction, not gardening. If any of you guys could answer a few questions, I'd appreciate it. Whats the best depth? How would I go about making it of recycled materials? What's your estimate of cost? Other than the obvious leveler and a hammer, what other tools should I get? Caring for a raised bed garden in a harsh winter like Michigan? Should I use wood, metal, plastic? I'm a newbie at making anything, so links on simple, step-by-step plans would help as well.

hello my friends of the creepy stuff Actually I like playing with this thought on my mind: Imagine having enough money Imagine you are living on the top of an willage/city. Imagine you would mount a remote telescop on your roof. Imagine it with an camera ! Imagine how awesome it would be (at least for you!!! well sadly this will stay just a dream, due to the fact that I dont have anything of the things above... But hey we can dream Well give me some inspiration -What could/would you do (exept for looking for girls) -how illegal would it be? -how to hide it from your neighbours -do you have experience with it -what kind of telescope do you need -any kind of inspiration?

Hi /diy/, So I have taken so much from this section of the chan without giving very little back. Now is my chance to give something back to this community. I currently work in the mining, oil and gas sector as a communications technician. I am here to answer any of your questions, no matter how silly you may think they are, about communications. Pic related.

Hello Diy, First I would like to thank those who have helped me and others in the past, you have given me solid advice that has helped more then any other learning resource I have used, I hope that I can repay you for that. But for now I need some advice on a little project I have been pondering for a while, I have collected these little LCD displays for a while and wish to turn them into night lights for my keyboard. I want to do this because of the subtle yet bright light they emit. However I have know idea what voltage they run, nor which pins do what. A half hour google search has not helped. Thanks again.

Hey /diy/ I've got a 5A 24v SLA charger meant for big 50+Ah electric scooter batteries. I'd like to use it to charge a pair of 12v 1.2Ah SLA batteries in series. Chargers for batteries this small are usually only 1A. I'm a little worried the charge current will be so high the batteries internal resistance will generate too much heat and cause damage. Does anybody have experience with this sort of thing? I've tried google, but can't get an answer.
