I'm looking to create a hidden door in my house, it's just access to a small storage area off a bathroom, any ideas how I could hide the door?
An opening bookcase is the obvious way but I don't really want a bookcase/open shelves in the bathroom,

Wood panelling, hidden door.

If you don't want wood in the bathroom you could achieve the same with tiles.

Do what I did for flush mounted cabinets; engineered flooring up wall, continue random pattern from transition to the door itself. But have hinge open inward, then you can have almost no space between wall and door, unlike my pic (cabinets, so not really a choice which way doors open). Had to bevel edge of cabinet door -hinge side- 3/16" so it could open.

Or do tile, but make door same as the bathroom tile that's layed in a brick pattern, not a rectangle but following grout line in overall circular and irregular pattern to hide any straight lines. door opening inward, that can be opened by sliding the lock bolt by rigging the bathroom's vent register's open/close knob to the bolt.

Think of design that includes "lines" on the wall to make it not suspicious.
Maybe tiling? That's quite popular for bathrooms and introduces lines. Either use no grout, or use e.g., silicone.

Build wall from drywall so that it sounds equally.

Is a hole behind the mirror too obvious?

i think you would want an electric latch since you obviously don't want visible handles.

So which is it, OP? Hiding drugs, or large enough to hide a kidnapped child?

you may want to have a solenoid/servo that opens the door. if you're not good with electronics, you can use one of those latches you push on to open. Wouldn't really know how to make a door you fit in, but mirrors or entire cabinets acting as a door are fairly good as long as you get a hinge that can support it's weight.
