I've been trying to find this type of drill bit for months. Not matter what I type in google I just can't find it. I found this picture on a site the other day and it's exactly what I need but I need them in metric sizes from 2-10mm.

I need short drill bits, I have long ones but they are annoying to work with as I drill plastic and I drill by hand. It's easier to work with short drill bits compared to long ones. Over the years I've been able to find 1 3mm and 1 5mm. But I need the other ones from 2-10mm.

Anyone know what these drill bits are called?
Short drill bits don't answer any questions in google. Was suggested to search for jobber but those are just standard drill bits.

Does this type of drill bit have a special name?

It'd cost me €50 to buy the set I need and that seems a bit excessive.
I was hoping for around 10-20€ like the long drill bits I bought.

these drills are made in germany. you pay for quality. on tools there is a golden rule: buy cheap and you buy twice.

Yeah, they seem really awesome but I'm drilling soft plastic for scale models. These things drill steel np. It'd be like going rat hunting with a .50 BMG.

Just found these for around €5, they'd work. I have no idea what they are for but they are short.
Only problem is the drill are in very weird sizes.

6# 2.38mm
8# 2.48mm
10# 3.175mm
12# 3.56mm

Inch system I suppose?

If you want it cheap then get your dremel and cut your own bits down to size, then give them an edge. If you're only drilling plastic you won't have to worry about heat treating them

cheap drills (including bad luck ) will melt the plastic and will get stuck. but anyway just try it

This would only work if I cut them off and then welded them to the 1/4 hex shank. I don't own a welding machine and it's probably be off center.

I drill by hand so there's no heat generated. I don't use a machine. Some I use a small chuck to get a better grip or if my fingers hurt from too much drilling.
