Fucking SS. I'm doing it. I am a runner however, and I have pretty specific goals. I essentially want to do SS, increase my lifts, and continue running. Whenever you mention running to someone on here, or a strength training coach/forum on the web etc everyone presumes you're a kenyan and running 50 miles a week. I run shorter distances, these are the runs I do every week. one sprint session a week, a small 5 minute jog to warm up. Then 200m sprints, sort of fartlek like in that I dont necessarily always do 100m x 10 but I will be out in the neighborhood and just do short intense sprints of up to 300ish metres at most. Normally 150-250metres. Sometimes less if I do some hills. If Hills, then just a 100ish metre hill, and 6 sprints or so. All in all, a 5 minute warm up, and about 10-15 minutes of activity. My second run is a little longer, but its basically a short run still. 5 minute warm up, not even a full jog most days if its warm out. Then two 1 mile runs, warm up, run one mile, check the time of it, then run the second, attempting to beat the time a few seconds. This run is all about learning a decent pace , maintaning said pace within the run, and increasing it a little week by week. The last run is just a casual 25-30 minute run. Not taxing at allll. In fact, its more about recovery than anything else. I can use it to gauge how everything is going obviously as everything improves so does the 30 minute jog/run ( about an 8 minute mile pace, some slight hills ) but thats all. So as you see, I'm not running anymore then 7-8 miles a week at absolute most. And I do squat at the moment, higher rep low weight so Doms shouldnt be a problem. But, I would just like to hear from anyone that has experience doing SS and running and to let me know what you think. Also general SS thread. I'll bump with high test wimin.
