So yesterday I tried deadlifts. I always avoided them (along with squats) after screwing up my back doing crossfit tire flips. Recently I've been thinking about how my routines might be lacking thanks to the absence of the holy squats and deadlifts. So I went to the back of my gym and gave it a whirl, tried to adhere to Rippetoe's advice on form, and boom, did my first deadlifts. I was only able to lift about 245. So, /fit/, what reasons do I have to continue doing deadlifts? What do they work, do they have any secondary benefits, etc.

alright, so I don't frequent this board, but I have a sleep related question. sometimes, If I go to sleep earlier than I have been the past few days, I'll wake up feeling incredibly parched, and sometimes even have cotton mouth. for example, on Sunday and Monday, I went to bed around 2 AM and woke up around 10 AM. but last night, I went to bed at 11 and woke up this morning at around 7 feeling like I've gone a day working in the sun without drinking anything. So my question is: is there any possible condition this might be connected with? also, is this fairly common? I'd also like to say I only drink water and occasionally juice, if that's relevant.

Hi, /fit/, I'm considering of going to the doctor, but while I wait, I'd like to hear what you have to say. Last week, when I went to bed, everything was normal, but I woke up with a small rash on my chin, over time it's gotten bigger, and it stings a bit. I don't have a clue what it is. Any ideas? Bulking to gain muscle. A girl I know came up to me today and said I used to be so sexy and that if I stop going to the gym. Bulking got rid of my jawline and now I look fat to everyone. Don't shave my beard as I got a fat face now. Is it worth it? Like will I lose muscles and have to bulk every year to get muscles back? Surely when I stop bulking the muscles will go?
