Just started Reg Parks Beginners routine without the calf and wrist work, (Which is essentially SS) and I have a couple of questions. Stats: Bulking with 300+ calorie surplus Lifting for about 3 months, but never done an actual routine, and was cutting through these months 5ft 8 60kg (132lbs) Bench 3x5: 48kg (105lbs) Squat 3x5: 55kg (125lbs) Deadlift 3x5 65kg (143lbs) OHP 3x5 30kg (66lbs) Would I be realistically be able to bring my bench to 70kg within 2 months? What row should I be doing on Reg Park's routine? I was thinking of doing DB cheat rows. Also tried lowbar squatting for the first time today, when picking up the bar should I already have it positioned behind my delts? Or should I start with the bar on top of my shoulders? It probably doesn't matter right? And where should my thumbs be? Sorry but no tl:dr

Just wondering if this is something to be concerned about. Been living in this home for a good three years. It was built in 1979 and I am under the suspicion that these popcorn ceilings are built from asbestos. I've heard if left alone it is not as bad, but around an hour ago I had jumped up in a fit of joy and had punched this shitty ceiling pretty hard and noticed some visible dust. Am I in any danger of inhabiting that room from here on out?

A little background info: I've been a fatty since puberty. I've made previous attempts lose weight that have been failures. About a 16 months ago, I went on a 50 day backpacking trip to get myself in shape, and dropped 30lbs to get to about 200lbs, the lightest I'd weighed since around high school. But since then I've not only regained that weight, but ballooned up to 255lbs. I've been diagnosed as being clinically depressed (my school situation collapsed and I began to contemplate suicide) and have recently started to take anti-depressants. For the first time in a long time, I am beginning to feel motivated to exercise again. So at the moment, I don't care about strength gain, I just want focus on shedding a good portion of my weight (fat). I want to focus on cardio, but am weary after previous attempts resulted in failure. I looked at the sticky and noticed the part about the ephedrine/caffeine stack. It seems a little too good to be true, but at this point I want to try anything that will give me an edge. The only thing that stops me from starting right away is the hypertension warnings (the other potential side-effects I am comfortable with the risk). Last week I had my blood pressure taken twice in hour at 135/83 and132/82. I know my systolic (top) pressure is a little on the high side, what I want to ask /fit/ with that blood pressure, is taking the ephedrine/caffeine stack going to push my BP to the point of getting a heart attack, stroke, etc; or is it within an acceptable range to try the stack? tl;dr: previous attempts to get /fit/ have been failures, want to try ephedrine/caffeine stack, blood pressure of 132/82; will I die?

Hi /fit/ i need some help. I bought such a fancy thing to messure my body fat. The strange thing is that as a result I get a bofyfat percentage of 4.3%! I dont think that this is possible cause I can see my abs very clear when I´m sitting or lying but not when I´m standing. I made some pictures of my messuring the body fat and 2 normal pics of me. Can you guess my body fat and tell me what I´m doing wrong when I messure it? Some facts about me: 180cm/5.9feet Working out since 9 months ( 3 times a week for 90min). When I started I was very skinny (almost auschwitz) 60 kg = 132,3lbs and now I´m 70 kg = 154,3lbs Picture 1/3

So yesterday I tried deadlifts. I always avoided them (along with squats) after screwing up my back doing crossfit tire flips. Recently I've been thinking about how my routines might be lacking thanks to the absence of the holy squats and deadlifts. So I went to the back of my gym and gave it a whirl, tried to adhere to Rippetoe's advice on form, and boom, did my first deadlifts. I was only able to lift about 245. So, /fit/, what reasons do I have to continue doing deadlifts? What do they work, do they have any secondary benefits, etc.
