Halp /fit/. I've been doing the stripped 5X5 routine and making solid gains, except I recently started a new labour job where I'm basically lifting heavy things all day. This has decimated my gains on my 'pull' lifts (deads, barbell rows), but I'm still making progress on squats and bench press. How fucked am I? Will I eventually get used to the labour job and start making proper gains again? My deadlift is particularly horrifying, I haven't made any gains on it in 3 weeks and it's not because my noob gains are over, I'm only doing 117.5 for 5 reps when I weigh 90kg's. I'm starting to look like I lift, but I feel like a phony.

what is /fit?

Hello /fit/ I am a big fat fuck that always spent his day at work sipping coke and eating McDonald's every meal. I work in the computer field so nobody would see me for most of the day as I was down in the server room. I look like everyone else I work with - fat and getting fatter. I came across /fit/ a few months ago. I hated most of you guys with a passion because I was jealous but I would read the sticky and read a lot of the threads. It would slowly sink in with me what I needed to do. These whispers and thoughts about finally doing something about my condition. I just started today at the gym. Right now my entire body is sore. I hired a personal trainer at the gym I joined because I know right now I lack the personal discipline to carry on. I just know that when my trainer will look at me with respect I will have reached a level that I have never had before. I just realize that I wasted too many years on earth being fat and lazy. I am in my 40's. I have a great job, 6 figure income, own my own house and realized that I don't want to die a virgin. I want a wife and children but how can I do that when I can't even take care of myself? I have been fat long enough. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Thanks /fit/ You are my Jiminy Cricket.

> dat feel when 3 weeks into test-e cycle get infection in thigh >had to go to hospital put on intravenous antibiotics for 4 days > dishcarged from hospital but now think i have infection in IV site > good bye gains not sure if it was from contaminated gear or improper administration introducing bacteria into leg. any advice on what to do? chuck it out or filter it into sterile vials?

>Doing heavy deadlifts for reps despite never being properly coached on them Why do so many people here do this? Why do the people who do it endorse it when new guys ask where to start? This shit seriously makes no sense to me. I'm starting to think you're all just trolling the newer guys so they get hurt and you have more equipment to work with in your gym and there are more DYELs for you to look at and feel superior to. New lifters: either get a legit personal trainer who knows what the fuck they're doing to instruct you on proper deadlift form for multiple sessions at your gym, or don't start off doing heavy deadlifts. Doing a workout program like SS so that you can come on an anonymous imageboard to get validation on your choice in programs is exactly the type of thing you should not be doing. Lift so you can achieve your goals, not /fit/'s goals. Also, /fit/, quit suggesting strength-focused programs to people who clearly are aiming for hypertrophy. It's fucking stupid.

>for a guy that currently weighs 165lbs, stands 5'10", and is 20 years old, he'll need 300 grams of protein, plenty of good fat, and moderate glycemic carbs for a total of perhaps 5-6000 calories per day. what the fuck? did any of you seriously start with a bulk of 2000-3000 surplus calories? is this mark rippihoe guy serious?
