Okay. Eggs contain saturated fat and cholesterol that raise the level of cholesterol in your blood, putting you at higher risk of developing heart disease in the future

http://www.bmj.com/content/314/7074/112.long

Eating cholesterol also increases the susceptibility of the cholesterol in your blood to oxidize and deposit in your artery walls

This isn't a study, just a published opinion piece. The opinion is of Maria Luz-Fernandez, who receives funding from the Egg Nutrition Center, and is effectively paid to make eggs look good. It's weird to me that people claim misinformation when someone presents facts that makes eggs look bad, but then they'll turn straight to the propaganda of the egg industry when looking for support for eggs.

>>34494631

It sounded like we were in agreement, miho.

>don't eat eggs every single day
>too much kills you

>>34494651

I have no idea what you even mean by that. The journals are incorrect? Or the articles published in them? The articles are just studies that have been conducted and published. I'm not sure what you think those links are.

All of the things I said are facts except the statin industry thing which was a simple conclusion to come up with as the statin industry is huge, only benefits from people believing cholesterol misinformation that has no valid scientific basis (observational studies that have not been corroborated by controlled trials are NOT valid scientific basis) and most statin companies claim that their products may not stop heart attacks if you look at the fine print.

But you can believe what you want. Show me some randomized controlled trials (pretty much the only kind that matter) proving your claims and then we can talk

>Show me some randomized controlled trials (pretty much the only kind that matter) proving your claims and then we can talk

The problem is that this type of study you're asking for literally can't exist, atleast for humans. You can't put people in a lab for their whole life and see how diet effects them in a controlled setting. We've done this with animals though. In every species of animal humans have tested, plaques develop if you can just raise and sustain their cholesterol at a higher level than is normal, independent from any other risk factor

https://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2013nl/may/travis.htm

This even happens with obligate carnivores, who are more resistant to cholesterol changes under normal saturated fat and cholesterol feeding since they evolved to not have their cholesterol raise from eating these things (so that they wouldn't die of heart disease). Even in cats and dogs, if you alter the thyroid gland, you can raise their cholesterol and produce the same plaques. The fact that elevated cholesterol is a risk factor in atherosclerosis isn't even a debate anymore. Here's a 5-part series on the history of cholesterol, from its discovery to its acceptance by scientific consensus for its role in heart disease.

I go through about five dozen eggs and two to three pounds of butter every month and as much sugar as I want. I don't do corn syrup or anything artificial, and I tend to eat a lot of root veggies.

With the "As much eggs, butter and sugar as I want" diet, I'm struggling to stay above 160lbs, and my doctor says I'm in perfect health... take from that what you will.

If anyone is interested, dinner is usually half a chicken breast, half a sweet onion a russet potato, three carrots and a half cup of pasta, all diced up (except the pasta) in a soup. It makes one serving of about four bowls. No idea how many calories that is.

If anyone knows how I can put down more calories without eating junk food, it'd be greatly appreciated. I want to gain about twenty pounds, because it's too hard to build muscle without reserve calories.

Lunch is typically a large garden salad in the summer (spinach, I hate lettuce). Towards winter, I slack off on the greens, and go more for grains and seeds. Theory being, that feral humans wouldn't have year-round access to fresh greens, so it doesn't make sense that it would be a dietary requirement. I also tend to crave red meat in the fall, so I usually increase that quite a bit, as well.

I enjoy my pastas. No other justification, I just don't see the point in abstaining from something I enjoy; the stress of not being able to indulge could end up being more harmful than a little bit of garden rotini, imho.
