The guide sucks ass.
I need a new laptop. $500-$600, for school. Would also like to play games without turning down the settings all the way. Video, ram, cpu, and battery life matter. (I'd like a quad core, at least 4 gigs, not shitty graphics, and 4+ hours of battery use)
You guys know of anything thatll do that?
And yes, I will install gentoo.

Hey guys. I built my current computer about three years ago and I don't know shit much about computers anymore.
Is this a good upgrade? The $150 of games is pretty neato. I just wanted to upgrade the graphics card, but then I realized that my PSU is only 420W (which is probably not enough for what I've already got) and maybe I'd like a new case with better airflow too.
I remember reading that the R9 270X has a lower "TDP" (180W vs 210W) than the GTX 560 ti, does that mean it requires less power to run? So if I can run the card I have now just fine, could I just run the new one fine as well?
Last question: PCI-E 3.0 cards work fine in PCI-E 2.0 slots, right?
Thanks, sorry for the dumb questions. I'm super hyped for Ass Creed Unity (and to a lesser extent the PC version of GTA5) but then I kind of realized that there's no way my computer will be able to run it at max settings. Should I just knuckle down for a new motherboard/processor as well in that case? I don't know how 'good' the i5 2500 still is.

Mechanical keyboard thread.
I'm looking for a new keyboard for another computer I have that would be good for just typing. Likely blue switches, but whatever's best. It doesn't need backlighting, or a numpad (though that's not a disadvantage), or anything fancy. Also, it has to be Mac compatible (I'm being forced into it). Think one of you guys can hook me up? I don't have much experience with these.
Pic semi-related, it's a Ducky Shine III. The keyboard I use on my main computer.
