How do you go about optimizing a function like double OptFunc(double x, double, double z); to always get the highest return value?
>function uses x,y,z to do a calculation then return a value
>function is provided within an .obj file
>Cannot modify .obj, therefore cannot see source code of function
>there's range of numbers to use for input: 1-8 for example
>function takes 30 seconds to run so looping through the entire range is not a good idea
What's the best way to do this? Asynch? threading? Find derivatives of formula?
