How come so many people on /g/ are defending idiots like linus torvalds tips or shreksyndicate lately? I mean, whether you enjoy their content or not is not of my concern, but have you taken a look at any of their forums? Specifically the "general discussion" or off topic sections, where you can see their true audience: LTT is apparently a place for 14-year olds to post their homework and expect correct answers, while TS is the home of edgy teenagers that listen to br00tal music and discuss how it feels to be a furry and why society doesn't understand them. How can you seriously defend this bullshit? Picture very much related, these forums gave me cancer.

After researching a little bit, it seems to me that the GTX 970 is currently the best GPU in terms of cost-benefit without downright sucking ass.
It costs 200 dollars more than the 980 and only adds 10% in performance (both in relation to the 780).
I don't live in the US, but I have a friend that is spending a few months there and will bring me back a GPU.
I know that nVidia will release the HydroCopper and Classified versions of the 980 soon, as well as the new Titan. That should drive the prices down.
Should I wait? How long? Should I buy another card?
Help, please, /g/. You've always been my guide.
