ITT your worst stories of dealing with computer illiterates. Mine:
>Have to share with sister who still uses Limewire to pirate shit despite me telling her it's ruining the computer when she downloads files like (I shit you now) "Linkin_Park_Discography.exe" and without knowing what she's doing
>"You're dumb, Anon, music can't give you viruses! My boyfriend is a computer expert, he told me so."
>Whatever, I just install Ubuntu on dual boot and use my own system while she uses hers
>Mom busts into room
>"Anon why are you putting viruses on the computer? I thought I raised you better than to get revenge on your sister over an argument!"
>I didn't put a virus on the computer, mom. It's a different operating system. I'm tired of seeing new toolbars every time I log onto the computer. I'm tired of having to wait an eternity to start the computer up because there are a million junk startup programs installed that nobody would let me remove. I tried my best to maintain the computer as best as I could, but I just can't do it with my restrictions. So I just installed my own operating system on the side of Windows. I'll use that, and anyone else can use Windows just fine. I'm using the hard drive I purchased for my operating system, so it's not using up any of your space. Just ignore it, I even put the Windows boot manager in place so that it auto-boots into Windows instead of my operating system.
what to do?

Ok /G/ the other week i was given a laptop from the school for my own personal use and school work, however it has many problems such as laggy response, can become unresponsive and full out stalls when i try and run flash professional or the internet, so i'm planning on upgrading the RAM to 4gb, but i would like your advice on whatelse to upgrade, here's the specs:
Toshiba Satellite Pro L300 2CH
OS: XP Pro 32bit SP3
CPU: Intel Celeron 900 @ 2.20GHz
RAM: 1.00GB DDR2
MOBO: Toshiba Portable PC
Graphics: Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family
as i said, i'm upgrading the ram, but whatelse (besides bombing it) can i do to improve it, and purchasing a new computer/laptop isn't a viable option due to time/financial constraints
