>Sources within Apple are particularly enthusiastic about a new security system called Rootless, which is being described internally as a “huge,” kernel-level feature for both OS X and iOS. To prevent malware, increase the safety of extensions, and preserve the security of sensitive data, Rootless will prevent even administrative-level users from being able to access certain protected files on Apple devices. Sources say that Rootless will be a heavy blow to the jailbreak community on iOS, though it can supposedly be disabled on OS X. Even with this Rootless feature coming to OS X, sources say that the standard Finder-based file system is not going away this year.
God I hope this is true. The neckbeard asspain would be magnificent.
Meanwhile regular users who don't dick around with system files will be happy that their system is now even more secure.
Budget PC problems

So I built a $800 PC a while back that I mostly use for programming and playing dota. Been about 8 months since I bought it and has been great.
Couple weeks ago I start noticing some really slow boots and accessing certain system menus cause the PC to chug.
I suspected it to be my video card because, well, I'm an idiot.
specs and monitors show nothing out of the ordinary.
>It's probably nothing :^)
Start noticing some delays between sounds when I'm playing dota (last hit and coin sound wont show up for about 2 seconds, pretty sporadic though). Get more concerned, maybe I should just run a defrag for shits and giggles.
>68% fragmentation on C:
Thinking the problem is fixed, go queue for another game. Get in, start playing, and experience some of the worst lag I have ever had. Grinds to a halt. I furiously try to lower all my in-game graphics settings and restart the client because I'm completing a challenge
>inb4 dota sucks
It freezes completely. I have to hard reboot.
Bootloader fucks up and suddenly I'm in this weird mobo recovery shell.
Getting really concerned, let it try to boot into windows...it succeeds. Now everything is really slow though, system menus crawl, application windows have a hard time moving around.
As for dota, my ping was <100 when this was happening, and my shitty AMD r9 is well under on temp, so my next only logical guess is the harddrive.
I have a Seagate Barracuda 1TB HD that I got on the sole purpose that it was $45. I'm pretty bummed as it's been hectic lately and all I wanted to do was drink beer and do some gaymin this weekend, but my computer a shit.
What do you guise think?
