Soupwhale Shells Open Signups

Howdy /g/! You may remember from a couple months back, I was offering free shell accounts to anyone who wanted one. These shell accounts were on a linux server with a 1Gb/s internet connection, 10GB disk quota, and rtorrent was installed. Well, we upgraded our hardware, got a couple new servers, and as such I am proud to offer /g/ the first opportunity to signup for the new free-tier shell accounts! They are exactly the same as the old ones. You'll get: 10GB storage rtorrent access your own subdomain, for web hosting (you can also point your own domain at the IP, and i'll set up apache) host any gaming server on port >1024 unlimited bandwidth All of that for free! (In the next couple days, the 'premium' server will be set up. It has an impressive 64GB of ram, an i7 clocked at 3.4, and 6TBx2 in raid. Accounts for that server will cost $5/m or $30 for life, and they'll get 100GB instead of 10GB.) Come on down to http://www.soupwhale.com/ and check us out.

/g/ I bought a laptop online half a year ago, in great condition, no defects whatsoever. A little suspiciously too cheap. I'm selling it right now, and the first call I get is from a call from a guy who's questioning me all about the specs, then asks if the laptop was stolen from some office. wtf?! I got a mail just now, from a guy who wants to buy it, and he asks me to make sure it's charged before we meet... I'm paranoid as fuck in here because I'd just depleted the battery almost completely a few hours ago. Am I crazy or is this a government laptop they can track down remotely and even check its battery life? How the fuck did the guy know the battery was depleted? /g/ I think some office douches are after me. halp!

Cheap, yet good android tablets? If root are available, ROMs and so on are too, that would be perfect. I want to buy my sister one, and I haven't seen one of these threads for long. Also, I remember seeing a pic with three tablets, whereas one were white and he said that he had bought them pretty cheap. If someone has the pic, please post it

Ok, I do graphic design and was thinking of using GIMP for a few days (getting paid in a few days and then i'm going to have to buy Photoshop) and... How the fuck do you guys put up with this? This is the most atrocious fucking program i have ever used. I've been using it for 6 hours straight for the past three days. WTF? How is anyone who uses Open Source software expected to make it anywhere in life when all of the open source solutions i've used are absolute nightmares to use? Isn't this just proof that the development model of ONE team of PAYED, TRAINED, and PRIVATE individuals a hell of a lot better than A LEAGUE of IDIOTS who would ALLOW a MESS of a program like this to released? The kicker is i'm using this program from Ubuntu, which is also one hell of a fucking mess.

Hello, I am new Crunchbang user who has dual monitors, with an NVIDIA card. On previous distros, my 2nd monitors resolution would not go above 640x480 with proprietary drivers, would using free drivers solve the issue, and has anyone here ever had something like this? The monitor in question has a resolution of 1440x900.
