BSD, Mac, Hurd, Plan9, GTFO! Previous OP (>>52769843) is dumb for accepting you! Intended for users of all levels, including absolute beginners. There are four ways to try Linux, you can: 1) Install a Linux OS on a VM (Virtual Machine/VirtualBox) for "safety purposes" 2) Use the Live ISO directly without installing anything, that way, you can get a "full Linux experience". 3) Dual-boot Linux with Windows/Mac (recommended if you want to learn more about Linux) 4) Go balls deep and overwrite everything with Linux (not recommended) Before asking, please search for answers to your questions in resources. Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly Linux Thread. Understand that much of your software from Windows will be unavailable, although maybe wine can make up for it. Deciding over graphics card

So I've been wanting to upgrade the GPU on my prebuilt PC(yeah I know pre-built whatever) and I'm willing to change a few other things if I really need to. I cant decide between the Gigabyte GTX970 G1 or the R9 390x(others I should choose instead?). I know the 970 is going to have better driver support but I'm leaning more towards the 390x as it is more powerful and it looks more future proof. Im planning on playing game at 1080p and atleast 60fps. I have an AMD fx-8300 proccessor, Asus M51BC 90PA05B0-M0XXN0 Motherboard, 12gb RAM, and Asus delta dps 500w power supply.

Can someone help? If your list is a jumbled mess, you may need to sort() it. animals = ["cat", "ant", "bat"] animals.sort() for animal in animals: print animal First, we create a list called animals with three strings. The strings are not in alphabetical order. Then, we sort animals into alphabetical order. Note that .sort() modifies the list rather than returning a new list. Then, for each item in animals, we print that item out as "ant", "bat", "cat" on their own line each. Instructions Write a for-loop that iterates over start_list and .append()s each number squared (x ** 2) to square_list. Then sort square_list!

How do we hack cats?

TOR Stuff

So, I've been wondering why more people aren't discussing this regarding Tor. You hear both sides of the argument often, you know, that Tor is or isn't safe, or it is safe but only if you follow 'x' precautions, etc. Regardless of how you may feel about it, the fact that the FBI were allegedly able to deanonymize 1300 people when they took control of a darknet site is alarming, but hardly ANYONE is talking about it. I have to wonder why this is, or if people prefer to have their heads in the sand or really have no comment on it because no one, at this point, seems to have any idea how the FBI's 'NIT' in this case worked. Can anyone at all shed some light on this? Tor is pretty popular now but 4chan has been silent about this, and so has Reddit. What gives?

redpill me on Chromebooks. is chromeos a botnet? are chromeos-supported ssh clients intrusive? How hard is it to install something like *buntu or Debian on it, and how much will the battery life suffer? I'm looking to buy one for development, school, and maybe the occasional movie. ThinkPad battery life is putting me off of a 420 520 or x220

So I am writing a small python script that replaces all newlines in a string by their literal escape sequence representations. However, I have encountered the following snag Why is this occurring? I thought only the regular expression needs to be double escaped due to RE and string literals using the same backslash \ delimiter. But I didnt think it would also apply to the replacement string

(Pic unrelated) I'm a protective annoying brother. My sister is a freshman and dating a Senior. I just want to make sure that she is safe and he is not going to try some shit. All she uses is her iPhone 4s. If it is possible to just look at the packets and read what they're typing, that'd be great. IE with using wireshark or something of the line. Even maybe a keylogger on it. >so what grills will be grills just deal with it The guy is shady and I don't trust him. Looks like he has this stupid smug smile. I do not want my sister to be raped or some shit. tl;dr - sis is dating weird dude, how to see what they're doing on snapchat and Facebook without her knowing
