Why do people keep meme'ing about C++ being hard? I have taken three university classes that focused on Java up to the point of design patterns, graphics, networking and so on. Now when I look at C++ everything seems so much simpler than Java source code. Even writing a fucking pong game in Java requires 300+ lines while C++ and SFML could do it with 100 lines >inb4 le pointers are hard

Ubuntu Font Rendering

Can someone explain to me why Ubuntu's out of the box font rendering is far superior to almost every other major distribution? If the technology behind it is open source and readily available to other developers, why do the people behind Fedora, Manjaro, Debian, etc. ship absolute garbage in comparison?

So I took /g/'s advice and sold my 970 in preparation of the 480 but thanks to the embarrassing leaked benchmarks that have just surfaced that are already leading to AMD's downfall I'm now left without a graphics card. Should I just swallow my pride by crawling back to Nvidia and buy another 970 or risk it all again by trying a 390?

Lossless Audio

I have hundreds of MP3s I downloaded from Napster and Limewire, back in 2000... transferred from old HDD to new HDD many times. Listening to them now and they still sound outstanding on a high-end system. Why do some of you faggots defend lossless audio formats so fervently?

MSI has shown us that the ever bulky and oversized gaming setups can be condensed like consoles have been since the very beginning. Despite the price that you will see compared to custom built, if this type of product could become very popular while a custom built tower is relegated to a professional/super enthusiast setup, the economic ability of trashcan/pre-built might be attractive and benefit the consumer with an easy to jump in product plus portability. Mass production will be possible. Now with the RX 480 and Zen coming soon compact pre-built have an opportunity to become extremely attractive in price while a 1070 could be provided to a more enthusiast option of 1440p resolution.
