Make a cool desktop?

First of all, this is my first time posting here, and I'm not sure this is the right place, since I'm rather new, so please no hate.
Okay, here's the deal:
I want my desktop to to look awesome, you know, like, super simplistic.
I've searched on the internet for some time now, but I can't figure out how to make these things become reality;
>In the picture posted, this is my desktop currently ((1)). The backround: I just took some images from around the internet and just made them a bit more fitting.
>I want to make the taskbar/open windows border a solid color, and removing the small line of light here ((1.b)) (Just unchecking "Remove Transparency" doesn't remove the glass reflection mentioned below)
>The windows doesn't have this glass reflection (Diagonal lines of light) ((3))
>Stuff on the desktop with the blank texture and rather big size have this square thing around it ((2)), I want to use this to make invisible icons, and use the backgound as icons.
That is what I want to add to my computer.
If someone could help me with this, it would be amazing.
>Not necessary, but a cool rainmeter? (I couldn't find any cool ones some time ago, so I uninstalled it.)
