Best GNU/Linux distro for a technologically-retarded family who's never touched anything else than windows?
My parent's computer is going to shit and I want to instal Linux so that they can at least browse the internet and play games on Steam (Younger sister's getting into gaming) properly. No fancy stuff, no higher requirement at all. As long as it feels at least somewhat intuitive they should be fine.
I've also read something about a specific type of release that supports updates for longer (I'm not going to visit them often and the typical life of a Linux OS seems to be pretty short, don't think they'd want to bother re-installing a new one every few months or so)
I tried out linux mint 15, but there's a bunch of issues that I don't want to bother solving when installing another distro would probably be faster anyway.
