Stupid Questions Time!
/g/, I have a conundrum. I have a computer that I've built over the past year and a half, pic related. I pretty much learned most of what I know about computer hardware TO build this computer. I've wanted to upgrade the graphics card for a while, because I knew it was cheap when I bought it.
So recently I got a job, and now I have money to upgrade. I started comparing parts, and realized that my mobo is equally shit as my graphics card, and that in order to have three monitors I'll need two graphics cards anyways(only currently have one PCIe slot). So to get another monitor I need another graphics card, for which I need a new mobo.
So I can do all that. I might have a little trouble finding out whether or not my mobo and CPU will be compatible, and switching the chip over and what not, but that's not really that hard. The struggle is that my current copy of Windows 8 is cracked, and I had a friend do it for me because I don't know shit about cracking (any links to tutorials and info on that would also be cool). The other week I found out that switching motherboards will require me to reinstall windows. Which I probably can't do w/o buying windows(which I'm not inclined to do unless it's my only choice).
So just any general advice on what /g/ would do? Any way around re-installing windows?
inb4 'install gentoo'
I considered switching to linux, and I'm getting closer daily, but I use Visual Studio for programming, and most of muh games don't work on linux. Maybe with SteamOS I will.
tl;dr: I need to switch mobos without reinstalling windows, how screwed am I?
