Hey /g/ I hope you can help me. I want to buy the strongest possible CPU for emulating, emulating performance is 99% dependent on the CPU and emulators use only 2-3 cores means I need a high single core performance. Can I trust this site in that aspect? Or is the real life performance different? http://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html Could I use a xeon? I know they are cheaper and don't have that integrated gpu, is there any other difference? (I heard it might cause problems cause that CPUs work differently) If not would a 4771 or 4770k give me the best performance and is there a difference between them besides the free multiplier?

I have heard from anons that you can develop applications for android in C++ using the NDK. But... why anons said that is not possible and that the NDK is only usefull as to simply use libraries? Which one is true? Also, are there any good alternative to Java to make android applications?

OK /g/ I'm looking for a linux distro which will Be highly stable Be fast Have an easy install Not be high maintenance I only want to use it for working on office and browsing the net. I am currently on Arch linux, though I find because it is so bleeding edge it takes a lot to maintain as it is full of bugs and quite unstable. I'm simply looking for an alternative. Preferably something with a simple text based login screen which doesn't have a high need for powerful graphics as I want to run it on my netbook. Tried doing some research but obviously there are so many out there I wanted the opinion of /g/

Why is Apple providing Mavericks for free? They never provide anything with attaching a premium price to it. What are they gaining from this new OS that's so valuable they're giving it away?

Move windows xp to smaller partition

12 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: harddrives.png]
Hello, /g/. [TL;DR] How would I backup my Windows XP image (currently 46 GB), format its partition, create a smaller one, and then recover it to this new partition? When I built my computer I threw a 1TB hard drive in and only had Windows XP at the time. I later got Windows 7 and used its rudimentary partitioning tool to partition the drive exactly in half: one half for Windows XP and the other for Windows 7. After a few months of using it I realize that I almost never (but sometimes do) need the Windows XP partition and decide to shrink its partition and add the space to my Windows 7 partition. For some reason, the partition is fragmented as fuck and I only gain back about half of the space after defragging and shrinking the Windows XP partition as much as I knew how. Now, I think the only way to recover the rest of the space is to backup the current installation to an image on an external drive, delete the partition, and create a new partition for Windows XP with somewhere around 80 GB of space. How would I go about doing this?
