Yes, but you can just grab xubunutu or lubunutu or kubuntu or ubuntu mate etc etc etc and avoid the shit DE that is Unity.

Unfortunately, yes. It's a good that you can chose a distro with any DE on it though in combination with Ubuntu.

I'm using Ubuntu MATE and I enjoy it a lot.

My dad really likes KDE because he's already accustomed to all their applicants (like dolphin, Kate, Okulus, and so fourth) so I installed Kubuntu for him. I gotta write him a message and ask him how it's going.

It is purple now.
But you can change it so it is any color although it works really bad, eg on boot, it will go from purple to the color you chose instead of going straight to the right color

i tested out a few distros in the 2 weeks before win10 officially launched because i had time and wanted to see what the fuss is about. it was so pleasant to see *buntus and mint just werk and i was surprised about how easy and intuitive everything was. i dual-boot windows 10 (enterprise lstb n) and debian since than and absolutely love it. i boot into windows like once a month.

quite the same here - all distros I've seen so far have better driver support than Windows out of the box.
only thing I miss from Windows is a decent DAW. although one can technically run Reaper over Wine, it feels like a blowjob through a sock.

Can't we have a single threads without cancerous neet archfaggots ruining everyone?

protip lads: not everyone is an unemployed fuck living with their mom.
With ubuntu/fedora/mint you can achieve the same things you can on arch, but without having to play "OS maintainer for semi-advanced" for the rest of your life.

Arch user here.

Stick with what works for you. Mint is a solid, fast distro.

Arch can be a bitch to install, but it's minimalism is what makes it so fast. If you're running old hardware you'll see a big performance boost. Its user base is filled with prententious assholes, though. But it's a good OS.

Running arch is almost no different from running any other OS. You know you can choose when to update? Been running arch for six months, no system breaking updates, because I'm not a retard and I look up bug reports before I install updates.
