Why draw porn?

I've noticed a number of people draw porn and post here. If you don't do it for easy money, why do you do it?
I've always taken art (mine and others) very seriously. I never got much of a kick out of drawn porn, and as I understand relationships, sex and the human body better, it seems increasingly redundant, absurd, and pointless. Furthermore, as I learn more and more about the amount of work and time a single good painting can take, I'm increasingly baffled by the idea of painting naked_big_titty_woman_looking_at_viewer over and over again
Art has always been about ideas and exploration of the human condition to me. Porn has always struck me as a cynical manipulation thereof. Is there some kind of message you are trying to communicate through porn? Is depiction of sex really necessary to get those ideas across? Can you put that message into words?
A secondary question: A lot of pornographers of straight porn put no thought or effort into sexualizing their male characters. Why not bother? (This is also a shortcoming of a lot of non-pornographic art, but pornography seems that it has a different set of goals than conventional commercial art such that one might take a more thoughtful approach.)
Thanks for your time.
