/ic/, how bad is your artists' block? I can't seem to get something on paper most times and go months at a time without drawing anything. If I can't get any inspiration, my art turns out terribly. When I was starting out, I could draw 4, 5, 6 drawings in one day. Now it's maybe 1 or 2 (if I'm feeling extra great) every 6 months.

What's a good fountain pen for doing croquis? I bought a 5 bucks fountain pen once for doing architecture croquis and I liked it a lot (pic related, look at that awesome motherfucker with those dragons/phoenix and shit), but after a couple of months it died. I'm considering spending more money to get a decent one this time, but I could use some advice on brands and/or nibs (i barely know about fountain pens).

I'm in my first drawing class and I've been asked to do the following exercise. Am I supposed to have some profound and evocative actions taking place here or what? I feel stupid for trying too hard and I feel stupid for not coming up with something better. I don't even know what half these are saying. Line exercise: 1. A single line floats in relation to an edge. 2. A single line cannot float in relation to an edge. 3. A single line appears static. 4. A single line is juxtaposed to an edge to create maximum tension. 5. Two lines carve out a solid white negative area without touching each other. 6. A single line evokes infinity. 7. A single line infers moving back and forth simultaneously. 8. Black and white areas are equal but white appears dominant. 9. Two forms or lines of the same size appear different size within different areas of the page. 10. A single line evokes maximum velocity. 11. A line in relation to each edge creates a different velocity. 12. A series of lines establish a plane. 13. A series of lines establish overlapping planes. 14. Different spatial locations are inspired by five lines (i.e. each line is located in a different space).

What canvas size do artists like Sergey Kolesov and Jaime Jones use for their illustrations? Do they start with a big image (5000x3500) and then resize it for uploading to DA or Facebook? How much? I'm completely clueless.

Commission pricing. Should I be charging low when starting out, even if I believe I should be charging more for the quality they are getting? I feel as if high priced art only works because they have a big audience, thus a greater chance to find people who are willing to pay that much.

Whacky proportions.
