So, I wanna git gud at drawing. I have a friend who can draw really well and they said they'd teach me, but they haven't helped me in any way so far (1 year and 1/2). They were supposed to teach me the basics and gradually help me get better, but I haven't had a single lesson yet and really wanna start learning. Do any of you guys know of any YT videos or sites that can teach me to draw? I'm on a budget, so I can't really spend money on lessons. I wanna learn cartoon type drawing. Anime, American animation, etc. Help a guy out, /ic/? Pic related. Stuff like this.

Hello /ic/, long time. I know this is a touch subject, but I could really use some advice or general help. I have zero background in drawing, absolutely nothing. I'm not even good at silly doodling, but lately I've been feeling that I want to art. So I want to start! I have the books downloaded and I started reading them, of course, but what troubles me is the speed of my progress. I would like if some of you shared your experience, especially how long it took you from knowing nothing to being able to draw things well. When did you start 'seeing' the things properly, like what shapes they're made of? Stuff like this. It's not because I expect results quickly, it's because this would really help to motivate me to keep at it. I like having goals and objectives. So far from answers I received it seems that around 2-2.5 years is needed to make something good looking. Would you agree? I'm 31, I have a good chunk of friends that are artists, all of them younger. Notably two of them at the age of 21 and 23 earning hundreds of dollars from projects they're on and various comissions. I'm a decade older than them and I know nothing, is there any chance that I'll ever catch up to them? That's my second bother. Third one is mostly general things that I think will disappear over time. Like my drawings seeming very flat, being unable to imagine a scene in my head, that sort of thing. I can't post any of my pictures, since I'm at work - but honestly it's just a bunch of cubes and other figures in space.

Where do you guys go to get feedback on your art? /ic/ is unbelievably slow the majority of the time and I find it's hard to get critiques on anything unless you're either already very proficient or a complete beginner. People just don't seem to reply at all if you're only slightly above average, which is about where I'd put myself. It constantly feels dead for me. So where can I go to get comments and criticism on my art? Are there any other good websites or forums for artistic feedback?

The 9 pages I have so far are on imgur: http://imgur.com/a/aRGc4 I obviously can't draw worth shit, but is the art so bad, that you can't even be bothered? For those that did bother reading, is it an idea with potential? Any tips, or advice would be amazing.

I'm an aspiring tattoo artist. I want books on tattooing and drawing and painting. Does anyone have any favorites or general books/sites they like to use? Any free downloads? Also just for fun if any one wants to list good beginner books not in the sticky because getting back to basics is a good thing sometimes. This would be appreciated. I do NOT tattoo people right now. I'm searching for an apprenticeship. I have about 80 hours of tattoo work on my body that I have paid 4 to 6 thousand dollars for over the past 4 years. I don't remember and exact price but it's good stuff from a good shop in Chicagoland. >pic related is a drawing I did to practice with. The red paint splatters did not work out and suck lol. I would not consider it a tattoo to put on someone it was just me having fun.
