Hey guys i'm interested in the more artistic side of graffiti and want to get into it. I already try and work out designs on pen and paper but I don't want to jump headfirst into it without a clue how to blend colours and do certain stuff. Any good sites for tips /ic/ ? or have I come to the wrong place ?

Seeing as there is another Portfolio thread, I think I'll start my own, just because I want similar critique, and school advice. Just applied to the Pennsylvania academy of fine arts, Dont know if I'll get in though.

I made this one today, I can keep fucking around with it, but I feel uncomfortable with the space that goes out further. I'm not sure how to make it seem like a big space when there is no distance for it to fade into/identifiable shapes that can give that idea.

I've been going through some architects wikipedia page. There's one little detail I can't understand. Architects design the house or a mansion, but workers build it. So, are the dates given to the architects work, given after the work is built, or when he designed them ?

Can video games be art?

91 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: Anor-Londo1.jpg]
So, I've heard gamers' thoughts on the matter, but, for the sake of knowing both sides of the argument, I'd like you all, those who know art, to share your opinions on the topic. Can video games be art? I will be posting just a few screenshots for you guys to base your opinions on if you don't really play video games. This is an in-game image of an area called Anor Londo, from Dark Souls, an action-adventure roleplaying game released last year. If there is another art board that is better for this sort of topic, please, feel free to direct me to it.

Hey /ic/, I hope some of you will be able to shed some light on a topic that I've been wondering about. How would one go about finding freelance work after aquiring enough skills to work professionally? Sending an e-mail to a certain company saying I want to work for them and send them my portfolio? Is it something like that?

Hey drawfags! I've created a new team and we are currently trying to get a good team logo, but i am still not fine with the one we actually have. What do you think about it? mb one you could help me out by creating a better one.. the team tag is Line of Sight or LoS .. what i tried, but failed, was to combine the letters LoS like in this logo http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/de/6/62/Radeon_9700_PRO-logo.jpg for example.. i think that would look really nice

hey drawfags, I need some help: this is a raw concept for my solo music project. unfortunatley I'm not a good drawer and can't into Photoshop either. If some of you photoshop-skilled people could pass me some impressions of this particular theme I'd be very thankful. the welding goggles and the beard are important. I'd also like to see the planet burning, global-warming like - not red like the sun. I won't use any of your sketches for commercial stuff, just want to get some new ideas for the overall style. >tl;dr if you have some spare time right now, please draw me a bearded burning planet w. welding goggles in space. thank you.

Art Challenge Thread - Drawing the Gaunt Human Figure

3 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: image.jpg]
This thread is dedicated to the drawing study of the gaunt human figure. >Why gaunt figures? The gaunt human figure, while very unlikely to ever to be encountered in life studies, is an extremely useful and oft-times overlooked. The gaunt figure shows some of the most important skin-to-bone relationships, and provides exaggerated points in which the bone pushes against the skin. It also provides skeletal structure study opportunities by showing bone structures covered with skin and muscle, why removing the construction obscurities that fat usually makes. This thread will provide 3 gaunt female models. Participants are more than welcome to do all three, and are encouraged to add male models that their peers can use, since gaunt male models are difficult to find. 1/3

it was nice picturing this

hey ic hows it hanging? Got a general inquiry for you guys. Im doing a commission for some random, 4 page comic. full color, front page, 2 pages with a total of 15 color panels, 1 full color back cover image. They've quoted me £100 (£20 deposit £80 on completion). basically i think thats far too cheap for what they are asking me to do as the story they have given me is going to spill over more than 2 pages if they want it all in. how do I go about telling them they are nuts thinking it'll be that cheap and I want more + a 50% discount like I said at the beginning of business. without losing a customer?
