What would be the best way to depict a character navigating a 4D universe?

Abnormal eye/nose area

4 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
So I made this drawing for a person, it's a picture of her I drew. Problem is, I know there's something wrong with the eye area, I can't tell what it is but it looks a bit abnormal. I thought maybe it was the nose or the fact that the right eye is slighty bigger than the left one. Can anyone tell me how to fix it? >tl;dr why does the eye/nose area look so abnornal, how do I fix this. Any form of rate/comments are welcome too, keep in mind it's the first time I do this kind of drawing. >I know it looks kinda bad overall, I'm not an artist I'm doing this for a friend but this problem really bothers me.

Is Andrew Loomis overrated? It feels like even with his instruction on basing drawing on simple shapes, all of my stuff still looks like bad unpresentable shape drawing. I know Andrew himself had talent but the stuff he teaches doesn't seem like it transfers any of it to newer artists, and it doesn't really help create progress at all.

what is this kind of art-style/technique called?... seems like a sub-category of pixel-art, but does it have a name? how is it achieved? can I simply use PS with a few tweaks or do I need a seperate program?

fuck this pen, seriously. its the worst thing thats ever happened to me. Monoprice's replacement pen is awful, and they don't seem to sell the default one. ive read the sticky but I can't find information on third party pens that are compatible with my monoprice tablet. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase their original pen (http://images.monoprice.com/productlargeimages/55531.jpg) ? Or perhaps know of any alternatives ? i hate to bring back tablet threads but im kind of at the end of my rope here, i just want to get back to drawing as soon as possible.

Old thread: >>2165189 Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up. Do not forget to resize and crop your images before uploading them otherwise the autists will complain. Before asking "what should I read/view/study/learn," consult the sticky: >>1579290 This thread's study theme is some snow plows. cos some anon said ''No animals please'' -The op image, don't worry about the small details, the running gear etc. just show you cant draw the plow correctly, and draw the stripes on it. -the second image, is a 2 point perspective exercise more than anything. -third if I post it, just a reference for the shape of the plow, but feel free to draw it. How do I convince someone to buy Photoshop over Corel Painter?

I have a huge problem.. whenever I try to draw, my eyes become dry really fast and in about an hour they are all red and about to collapse. I also feel reallllly tired and I suddently want to sleep, I also have carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms even thought I barely even draw (I can play hours on computer games and I will never get carpal, but 15min of semi drawing causes instant carpal). I also feel overwheelmed, depressed and anxious when I start drawing... I lose patience and rush everything and my symptoms get even worst the more I rush everything. It's like if my stupid weak body does everything to remove me from drawing. I'm really really pissed off right now, but hey I will to get out of this dumb condition.. if I have to get cancer just to draw I will do it, at least when I die that will prove that life is ridiculously retarded and there is nothing I can do about it, unless some kind of revelation from god. Anyway, I am looking for motivation tips, so go ahead if you have any.

How about a thread for sharing good videos/podcasts/articles/etc about art? Not focusing on technique necessarily but on visual storytelling, composition, intention, analysis, meaning. Here are some Youtube channels that I like but I'm looking for more if anyone knows any: Every Frame a Painting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHpXle4NqWI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1PCtIaM_GQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doaQC-S8de8 Nerdwriter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKhfFBbVtFg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z68CQkD7mz4 Matthew Weiner's Reassuring Life Advice For Struggling Artists http://www.fastcompany.com/3045082/my-creative-life/mad-men-creator-matthew-weiners-reassuring-life-advice-for-struggling-artis I know most of these examples are about film but I think a lot of the content is still useful for working in other mediums.

Can a self taught artist make it in the art world?

33 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Are there any examples of artists who never went to art school and got successful anyway? In my country it is impossible for me to go to any kind of art school (because our school system is fucked up) and art schools like in america or elsewhere don't exist here. Neither animation schools... And there aren't any possibilities to go to life drawing classes for me. I heard some interviews and it seems that everybody who is successful or popular went to art school. I am desperate and don't know what to do. I have a graphic design degree, but this just don't satisfies me. So, is there anyone who made it into game art, card art or even comic artists without art school experience? Or should I just quit drawing and suicide. (Not literally, working in a job that fucks up my soul just feels like this.)
