Can you draw way beyond your skillset in short bursts?

1 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
I need to get two art pieces done; one for the cover of a collection of old stories I want to remaster from when I was a kid, and one for an unrelated project. I'm not good at art, and I've seen progress threads showing the average time it takes to git gud as being around 9 years. I'm wondering if it's possible, given you study your particular subject of the piece enough, to draw artwork that is abnormally high quality for your actual skillset?

How do I stop my art from becoming "deviantart tier"? What are things da front page artists do all the time, like making the work too shiny and making uncanny valley doll faces, that I should avoid?

Hi dudes. I want to get as much attention around my work as i can, but i don't know what i should do. I know my skill lvl is better than alot of stuff that's getting alot more attention, but i don't know what to do in order to create some buzz around my stuff. The main reason my work isn't that popular is because it's mostly gritty and dark stuff that most pple can't relate to i think. Should i just start doing alot of fanart and stuff so i can start earning atleast some money from it? Pic related. Not my work but similar.

Artist Wanted

I am looking for an artist for a project I am working on. At first, you will just draw characters from Square Enix Games, but I do have some originals as well. To start off, I want someone to draw Sora from the Kingdom Hearts series. I do ask that you leave an email address so I may contact you if I like the artwork. Something along the lines of this image, but at the same time makes him look bad ass.

Tell me something /ic/, why does almost 90% of the patreons are trap oriented? I know porn its always a bonus, but dicks and homo stuff everywhere? Why? Is there any non-written rule about a patreon to have success? Its just because Incase's?

I've "read the fucking sticky". I know how to draw in 3D, but I can't draw noses/mouths for shit, no matter how many times I watch a tutorial, if I am just looking for a sketch/concept. I drew this atrocity after a long hiatus of not trying. If I am sketching, how in the hell can I make the mouth/nose better? And what the hell can I do so my jaws are never cockeyed? Instead of "symbol drawing". What do I need to do sketch wise so this looks better? I've done loomis and all that horse shit. Shitty pic but my scanner is currently unhooked.

Abidextrous Training Benefits

3 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
It seems to me like training to draw with both hands would be a good deterrent from CPS. You'd be splitting the workload among both hands so that you could rest one hand without slowing down your studies. How am I wrong? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJj1Qqqebh8 btw Da Vinci was ambidextrous

Creepy/uncanny charcoal/drawing thread. Post any creepy and/or uncanny charcoal drawings you've done or seen. I just tried charcoal for the first time yesterday while stoned and it was a lot of fun just losing myself while drawing. Pic related. Only a beginner.

Old one at 300 Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud. AVOID asking unrelated questions, There is a question thread for that. Visit the usual "Art book Thread" to find your desired books. Do not forget to PLEASE RESIZE and crop your images before uploading them. 1kpx is fine. Before asking "what should I read/view/study/learn," Read the f*cking sticky, it's there for a reason: >>1579290 (Cross-thread) (Cross-thread) (Cross-thread) (Cross-thread) ? ? There's a new sticky in town! You can see it at https://www.reddit.com/comments/46sb9k/ >Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images. Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash. TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless. Just to let you guys know, that loomis wont help you, you either have it or you don't. I am going to dump some of my OC inks here just to show you the level one has to be at to actually get work in the industry.

Watts Atelier Online

Has anyone tried out Watts' online school? I'm a beginner and was wondering if the drawing classes help. He claims Loomis and other things will be incorporated into the lessons so you only have to do bare minimal reading.
