https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVG3XhvLmH4 Do you think James Jean (and other artists with moleskins for that matter) have "secret" sketchbooks which are a bit messier than this one? My sketchbook are all messy and ugly, with the occasional drawing I'm happy with...Obviously he's much better than me, but still. It's like every single page of this is so well thought out, consistent and aesthetically pleasing that the whole sketchbook it's basicaly ready to be shipped to a publisher and get scanned and released as a artbook as it is. Is he just that good?

Anyone ever use Spectrum Noir markers? How do they stack up to Copics or Prismacolors? You can get a six pack of these for 7.94 at Joann Fabrics (but with a 50% off coupon that seems to be in the ad literally every week), so 1.32 a piece which seems like a good deal.

Should I buy some body figures to use as reference or are they a waste of money? They're pretty expensive but it seems like they might be of great use.

How long did take you faggots to get used to a tablet and then the programs, like Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai (Actually PTS is more easier to get into)? Pic related is the best I can do in like 15 minutes or so.

big ears edition Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud. AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that. RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS: #1) >screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method) #2) >change camera capture settings to something smaller #3) >send to computer and resize in MSPaint ? ? There's a new sticky in town! You can see it at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VfDTpLLVl5bWUGWguswKpPFml533luI8-NBd1EGYHnA/edit >Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images. Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash. TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless. >Hello _artist_! I am a big fan and want to know if you have any tips about getting into the industry? >Post your work online, draw everyday, draw a lot, especially from life! Holy shit fuck any young artist who got lucky and successful early on and gives advice like this. These fucking people never mention networking, the necessary dilemma or getting a part-time job just to support your art, or even that luck has a huge fucking factor in whether or not an artist gets noticed and that sometimes, you might just be unlucky for years at a time. Why the hell do artists never give luck credit to being the reason for their success? Why do they all say if they made it, its because they worked hard and deserve it?
