>hire artist >don't hear from them for weeks at a time sometimes about updates >they email and say "sorry I'm not around or working much on your stuff; I have depression. It's going to taker longer to finish this" Is it okay for me to cancel commissions for this?

What do you think? Is this really the ultimate training for artists? What would you remove/add?

ITT: post videos that inspired or motivated you. I'll start. This Feng video always helps me realize how much effort I should be putting in to art. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3Al7QAS89s

Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud. AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that. RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS: #1) >screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method) #2) >change camera capture settings to something smaller #3) >send to computer and resize in MSPaint ? ? There's a new sticky in town! You can see it at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VfDTpLLVl5bWUGWguswKpPFml533luI8-NBd1EGYHnA/edit >Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images. Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash. TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless. Last thread: >>2688865 This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil. Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun! Fresh off the Mayflower? Then do yourself a flavor and check out /ic/s unofficial subordinate STICKY: >https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VfDTpLLVl5bWUGWguswKpPFml533luI8-NBd1EGYHnA/edit --------- >Hitokaku Index http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~zm5s-nkmr/ >0033 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?id=59317 >List of active livestreams use twitch #creative >fellowBro's books http://mediafire.com/?i44dwzkf9j9n8 >Tutorial/Reference Collection http://pinterest.com/characterdesigh/ >Japanese Tutorials http://iradukai.com/ >Figures http://reference.sketchdaily.net/ >Pose Practice http://www.eggazyoutatsu.net/eng/atarichan.html Remember the words of our good friend Feng Zhu: “"there is no secret to drawing. The more you do it, the better you'll get. It's all about mileage. A lot of people try to look for shortcuts, but there aren't any. Just bite the bullet and do the work. There is no easy path."

Is there any justification for paying $300 for a Giclee print of pic related, is it that different from a large format printer I could use at my University for $18?

Great Hack for Drawing 2 Point Perspective

16 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
Granted a lot of apps such as Manga Studio, Illustrator, and others now have perspective ruler tools. But for drawing on paper, carrying around a ruler or t-square isn't practical. Well here all you need is a rubber band and two thumb tacks or push pins! Can't be used for everything, but still a nice efficient and clever way to do it.

It's been a long time since I've seen one, so I wanted to try making one. I wanted to post mine for some time. Hope I can get some insight in what I really lack right now and what would help me get to the next level. Other comments are also always welcome

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others! Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped. If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then hug a kitten for good luck. >dA /ic/ group : >http://4chan-ic.deviantart.com /ic/ Resources/Reference/Downloads/Links: >>General resources : >http://sites.google.com/site/4chanic/ >http://sites.google.com/site/artandwhatnot/ >http://characterdesigns.com/ >http://crimsondaggers.com/forum/thread-3.html >http://finaltrinity.tumblr.com/post/13163064364/art-references-tumblr-accounts >>fellowBro's books : >http://mediafire.com/?i44dwzkf9j9n8 >>Figure Drawing Tool: >http://pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php >http://posemaniacs.com/ >>Photoshop Brushes >http://cgsociety.org/index.php/CGSFeatures/CGSFeatureSpecial/tower_of_evilzz

Can I ask why you guys have so much contempt for style? And how far that goes? Like, do you dislike Van Gogh and the impressionists? (though I guess that's not really a "style", but you get what I mean) Do you hate Picasso?
