Am I better than Sycra?

55 more posts in this thread. [Missing image file: ]
So my last post was how close I was to a KJG level. A lot of people seemed to think I was way over my head because I didn't do any finished pieces. Well this time I attached a finished piece, my DA is jpeg96 Anyway, I'm wondering right now If I have finally surpassed sycra. I've been on his forum for a very long time and I look up to him. I especially love the way he draws faces, he sees to convey so much expression. Now, putting his style aside, on a technical level, do you think my work is superior to sycras?

Anyone here know what video this sketchbook came from? i can't seem to find it again i might have also come from a post but i'm pretty sure it's a video

These literally who types who hard sell themselves really rubs me the wrong way. "Art Instructor - Illustrator - Concept Artist - Writer" yet barely any finished work. Can't see anything about writing either so it just comes off as pretentious. But I won't argue against results. Do you think it's a good idea to market yourself agressively like this? She's a chick with a cute voice so I guess that works in her favour too.

There's people who actually learned how to draw anime girls using the sticky?

Thoughts on your favorite digital painting course? I'm considering joining this one, but I'm also playing around with CntrlPaint premium series Levelup Workshop. Through conceptart.org https://artcamp.com - Noah Bradley Mostly looking for a community to help guide my direction. Ideally a mentored course. IC just isn't enough these days. While I am self motivated enough to work daily, I feel like my efforts could be focused better. Is this the correct route? Have you had any experience in any of these courses, or others? What might you recommend?

If you are a /beg/inner in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the drawthread with our fundamental exercises. Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud. RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS: #1) >screenshot the image and post that instead (I recommend ShareX) #2) >change camera capture settings to something smaller #3) >send to computer and resize in MSPaint ? ? There's a new (and cleaner) sticky in town! You can see it at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uwaXKU7ev6Tw_or__o8ARpUb6r2rCZYJGqwSFV9AD98/edit#bookmark=id.15jx3pyuimvj TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless. Last thread: >>2940732 This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil. Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun! Fresh off the Mayflower? Then do yourself a flavor and check out /ic/s complementary subordinate sticky here: >https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uwaXKU7ev6Tw_or__o8ARpUb6r2rCZYJGqwSFV9AD98/edit#bookmark=id.15jx3pyuimvj --------- >Hitokaku Index http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~zm5s-nkmr/ >0033 http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?id=59317 >List of active livestreams Use twitch #creative >fellowBro's books http://mediafire.com/?i44dwzkf9j9n8 >Tutorial/Reference Collection http://pinterest.com/characterdesigh/ >Japanese Tutorials http://iradukai.com/ ?????? playlist (fixed) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWyIMrWHN30&list=PL6dSbz05yTUL_zym3SiOxOgqq29XvOh48 [Embed] https://www.palmie.jp/ - twitter required for assigments >Figures http://reference.sketchdaily.net/ >Pose Practice http://www.eggazyoutatsu.net/eng/atarichan.html Have any suggestions on helpful resource links? Even though i think Shadman's art is okay (It's not in my personal taste almost at all with the exception of maybe this picture). Why does everyone here hate him? have you always hated him or was over time? Is i his art or attitude or what? I'm always lost every time i saw a thread of him sometimes and i would like to know, please.

Not everybody gives a shit about improving!

So one of my biggest pet peeves when when d/ic/ks post improvement memes of artists who show little or no improvement in order to feel better about their own slow improvement. Well let me tell you something you pathetic fucks, not everybody is grinding fundamentals 6 hours a day in order to draw waifus. It doesn't make in any way superior to artists who improve slow because chances are they have a fucking life. Maybe they are in medical school? Maybe they have an awesome fucking social life unlike you neet fucks and only draw once in every blue moon. Maybe they simply don't give a shit? TLDR: Quit posting shitty improvement memes of artists who barely draw in order to feel better about the fact that you're practicing hardcore and still making little gains you talentless cucks

Do you guys think I'm good enough to start teaching?

Here is my deviantart for reference: http://z4m97.deviantart.com/ My name is Daniel. I've been practicing my fundamentals for quite a while now and I was thinking of making a drawing channel on YouTube teaching the basics of drawing and painting. I'm also thinking of making a premium course for people who are very serious and want 1 on 1 mentorship. Anyway, my question is, would any of you guys be interested in learning from me if I did that? I think i have a pretty good understanding of fundamentals from perspective to values to colors and comp.

Hey /oil/, what do you think of this guy's instruction? I like his teaching style. Straight forward and no bullshit. I'm more of a digital painter though so I don't know enough of the specifics around oil as a medium to be able to judge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gml1xl72qE&t=667s

Never Gonna Get Good

So, I went out and got myself a tablet finally. Told the sweet looking chubby chick at the best buy that my art skill was only "hang" on the fridge level and I just needed a tablet good enough for doodles. After she told me she didn't work there (who the fuck goes to best buy in a blue shirt?) I found the drawing tablets and choose the cheapest of the only brand they had; Wacom Intuos Draw ($80). It came with ArtRage lite or something, didn't like it. I downloaded Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and wasn't about to subscribe to that shit so I bought Mischief and...it's pretty amaze-balls. So the tablet works great, drawing program is on point and I bookmarked the reference sites I spotted in the sticky. But then, I started watching some porn and jerked off. After that I went to Taco Bell. When I got back home I ended up playing some Paladins on Steam. I eventually pulled myself out of the blackhole and started sketching but while I was looking at my references I ended up looking up porn again after looking through /b/ for some more references. I didn't even beat off, I literally just watched porn, trying to wrap my head around drawing those kind of curves and how cool tight skin looks oiled up. So, I bought a tablet to look at porn and pretend I'm not a pervert, I think... Anyone else out of their depths when trying to improve?

0033 is trash, why does /ic/ always recommend this artist?

I've seen multiple people suggesting this artist as an anatomy source for beginners despite the fact that he has wonky anatomy and half the time you can't even understand what's he's drawing.
