Is FA worth it to a nonanthro artist?

I've seen several anthro threads here that have talked a lot about money involved and the beneath-the-table processes that go on, but what about artists who aren't anthro looking to make side money? I've been browsing the commission forum of FA for the past few days and there doesn't seem to be much competition. There is a lot of undercutting and whoring going on, but otherwise, most of the $5-to-$10 commissions all suck. I was tossing the idea of throwing up anthro sketches, seeing in anyone would bite, and start selling simple rendered pencil sketches for $20 bucks. Has anyone ever done this on FA or any other site with luck?
Pic sort of related.

General FA thread, but for the love of god, keep it tame.

>"If you can't get the urge to draw every single day, choose another line of work because you won't make it as an artist."
How true is this statement?
I heard this line from a 20-something graphic designer two years ago when I went to an art school I didn't like, this year I am off school (unintentionally took a year off, fall because of stress and transferring to Ringling for Spring 2013, loved everything about it, got into Ringling but couldn't pay so had to take Spring off, unemployed and applying to another college this Fall.) and all I have done is doodles and a couple of pencil/pen sketches here and there.
Tonight I tried to draw a character concept but I hate my style so much and the way I draw male anatomy from my head that I just couldn't bring myself to keep going. I do like being an illustrator but I feel like I fucked up and am too lazy to make it as an artist. I really don't want to be one of those guys who goes "oh, wait, I don't want to be an artist! I want to be an aerospace engineer!" because I have already invested so much into being an artist.
Does anyone have a few of those /ic/ 100 sketch subject sheets laying around? I want to draw something that isn't stiff ass character designs with no life and awful eyes. Also, does being away from the computer help you guys?
Thanks in advance. Yes, I'll admit my college situation looks bad, I can divulge if anyone asks for the full story but not right now. Goodnight, /ic/.

Main character for my game, I thought that the old design was too emotionless and slightly scary, decided to change my art-style entirely just to make a feeling of friendliness, personality, and reputability.
Fun fact: The old design was trying to emulate a 'Dusk Hotel' vibe, while the new style references some of Professor Layton's level of visual fidelity.
