Is an art mannequin a good investment? Loomis suggests using one while studying his book, but they never appealed to me in the past.

Does anyone have a pdf of Drawing the Draped Figure: The Seven Laws of Folds. I plan to purchase, and I mean that as it's my most desired guide, but I'm currently tight with bills to get it atm. I also can't wait to read it as i'm just like that with any Bridgman work. I'll promptly delete the thread as it's outside the rules. I've used /rs/ and a whole bunch of other resources from that, but to no avail, so sorry if this is really bother you.

Why do so many draw nipples oddly?

It seems almost everyone, whether American, British, Japanese, artists I see usually draw nipples with a notable indentation on them, like they're concave. But a nipple doesn't look like that, it looks like a bump that well doesn't have any of that stuff going on, to the naked eye. What's the deal? I prefer nipples drawn looking well more like nipples

Hello /ic/ This will be my first post on 4chan. I have no training in art, nor have i ever taken an art class. Everything i do is based on observation, so I don't have everything on the point. Meaning i'm not sure whats wrong with this drawing. I am sure that there must be something incorrect, though i cannot see it.

Aloha, I'm looking to make a short claymation movie as proof of concept for a bigger more expensive movie. I want to do it in a surreal art style similar to the neverhood. I don't have any experience in animation but I do have quite a bit of sculpture experience. Any advice? Character designs are welcome and I will include you in the credits if you like. Thanks in advance.

Hey, /ic/. Whenever I paint/color something, I often get too bogged down with details in certain areas of my painting and my paint strokes just never feel confident or right enough. This usually eats up so much of my time and makes a simple illustration a huge amount of frustration and time to create. What should I do to improve my work pace/efficiency? (Art isn't mine)

Can you guys help me wrap my head around color blending in photoshop? I'm using cs6, I'm much more familiar with color blending using actual paints. My main issue seems to be that I can't get anything other than brush size to respond to pen sensitivity. Otherwise, I think I'm just entirely unsure of what to expect from my tools, if they are even at the right settings (so if you can recommend your default settings too that would be great). I wasn't even that great with paint but it felt much more intuitive and straightforward, and I'm stuck to that process.

Hi guys, i got this problem. I mix VanDyke brown with Ultramarine (but it doesn't matter which colors) and when i tries to paint with them, they are ok "grayish blue" as i want. Unfortunetely, when they dry, pigments separates, so you can clearly see ultramarine inside, vandyke going outside. I dont know if im doing something wrong, but i suppose its more likely about pigments itself. I got these watercolors as present so i dont even know their price or origin >picture related Its sucky quality, i know, but hope you can see the separation Anyone knows what am i doing wrong?

How does /ic/ feel about caricature artist/drawing? I find them to entertaining to say the least. I've been thinking about being one at a local amusement park/mall this summer because I'm so fucking over waiting tables. I'm still a bit new to art, practicing the basics and what not and was wondering what advice or warnings /ic/ might have. Currently brushing up on some Loomis; Fun with a Pencil, Drawing Heads and Hands specifically.
