Hi! Do any of you share my dislike for sakimichan? I feel that her work might have had some character a long time ago, but now it all seems as soulless reproductions of her technique only for faves..

Feel free to leave comments about this interpretive artwork. Possitive feedback is allways helpful. If you like any of these drawings let me know.

Soup /ic/. I've been mulling over something, how did people back in the day into art? Like if you were living in the 18th century and you wanted to into art how did you start? Did the masters have shitty first few drawings? I assume that even the masters back then started off crappy, but how did one improve without all the resources available today? When they presented it to be critiqued there was no "needs more loomis" or no one to redline your work so how did people manage? picture unrelated

I need help relearning. I've drawn for as long as I remember, working my way from awful, to pretty alright in my eyes. The problem is, I've had the wrong approach, and only recently have hit a wall, to the point where I can barely draw anymore. I want to draw correctly, so that I can draw what I want, how I want it, but I'm having a great deal of trouble doing so. I've read the sticky and practiced my Loomis, but I keep coming back to what I've done in the past, whether I want to or not. Please, any suggestions on how to unlearn so I can get better at what I love would be so appreciated.

Can we get some good comic shit going? I've just discovered this guy Riccardo Federici, his work looks really well done, and I'm trying to get my hands on one of his books. If anyone knows where I can read his stuff in English, or find it in general, that'd be great. But anyways, post some good comic book artists please.

Heyo d/ic/ks, I'm in the market for a new tablet. My old Bamboo fun pen and touch is starting to have issues with detection and touch, so I've decided to get something new. Thing is, all the familiar products by Wacom ( the bamboo fun line) has been phased out. I 've been out of the tablet loop for 4 years. What do you guys use, and what do you recommend. Looking outside the Wacom bubble, I heard Monoprice's generic tablets are actually on par if not better than Wacom's overpriced shit (sadly, the pens need a battery since wacom's got a patent on batteryless ones) What do?

I know this is a super Broad question but who in /ic/ views is gonna be the Mullins of the next generation ?Honestly he's the one of the few if not the only "mainstream" commercial artist that is reffered to the closest thing to a master painter. Im curious about rising stars that seem to be on the same path that /ic/ found about one way or another.

Is there any software specifically geared toward attaching keywords or tags to images to search all your pictures? It's a pain in the ass to go through all of my folders to find a reference for something when many of my references have multiple things I need to reference. Would like to be able to attach keywords like foreshorten, skinny, fat, worm's eye, smile etc. to multiple pictures, and then when I need that specific tag, just be able to search it and it will show me all the images I've attached that keyword to. Also, general software thread, I suppose. Or general whatever; you guys decide.

ok ok, how about this.. we've all heard artists like picasso were prodigies, but who were the artists that no one thought were worth a damn early in their careers? 1. Toulouse-Lautrec, depending on your source his parents were either suspiciously supportive of his doodles or he really had to struggle to be allowed to pursue art. you decide, pic related.
